On the production team for Warehouse!??! / Now THAT's something I wanna ask about! / If you're up for sharing / As part of #operationcosy / I'm sure it's an amazing story, no doubt! :)
This is so sweet!! And yeah, it’s a great story, although you’re only the third person to ever ask about it.
I got a Twitter last year, for the Warehouse 13 finale, because I wanted to live tweet the actors and share my pain with the rest of the world. It was great, I kept getting shout outs and follows from other grieving fans. 5 episodes/weeks went by, nothing really eventful happened, I just tweeted once a week for about an hour during the Warehouse 13 episodes.
Then, the finale. I tweeted a lot of messages about how much I loved the show and the actors during the episode, and after the episode ended (and I stopped crying), I tweeted a lot of messages about how much I was going to miss the show, the actors, and the presence Warehouse 13 had in my life. Then I tweeted something that basically said “I got to find a home at the Warehouse, a place I felt accepted. The memories are endless.” (metaphorically, of course) with some other hashtags and shout-outs to the cast and crew.
So, this one guy, he saw that tweet and interpreted it literally, as “The Warehouse was my home and I felt accepted there because I worked with the cast and crew every day and gosh I’m gonna miss these people.” He tweeted at me something along the lines of “I’m so thankful for such a fantastic series, great job.” I was just a fan, expressing my grief, and he thought I was a member of the crew, expressing my grief. Well, he had a lot of followers, and his followers thought I was a part of the crew too, so they started tweeting me their thanks, and while I tried to correct them, it was already out of hand. It was apparently already official that I was on the production team for Warehouse 13. I think Jack Kenny noticed at one point, but he didn’t really care. Probably thought I was some assistant who just carried props or something. I was even edited into the Warehouse 13 Wikipedia page briefly, before another fan edited me out.
I don’t mind it though. It was really cool. I don’t really go on Twitter all that often. It just makes for a cool story, and an interesting conversation starter. (Plus, all these people still believe that my inactive Twitter account is one of a Warehouse crew member, and they still tweet at me from time. It makes me feel important.)
Sorry, I’m a long-winded storyteller!! But this is one of my favorite stories to tell, thanks for asking about it.
