ROBOCOP (1987)
robocop’s famous catchphrase
the sun is a sickly orange color today with a haze of smog blurring its edges. it truly looks like something you would use in a scifi movie to clue the audience in that something has gone very wrong
here’s a pic from the local reddit that honestly looks even scarier than what I’m seeing now
Anyone else noticed the air is unbreathable and the food is poison and the sun is blocked out of the sky
"get him pregnant" well thats not my thing but to each their own
"get her pregnant" *takes up my sword and shield* i wont let you do that to her. ......................
I think I'm going to remember this phrase every time I cook for the next five years
you should know i'm literally pro community. it's very straightforward
all this anti community rhetoric boils down to 'we shouldn't help each other because if we help each other then we run the risk of not helping each other all the time everywhere no matter what when we said we would, which is hypocrisy. instead we should simply not help each other'
Well actually we shouldn't help each other or live in collectives because ideally all the necessities of life would fall from the sky and no one would need anyone else. And we'd have a perfect, impersonal technocratic welfare system where we all contribute to the well-being of society and live in harmony which is so totally diametrically opposed from a healthy community because reasons.
I shouldn't have to do anything to help anybody else or be an active relation with anybody else. If I could just build the ideal God-State that would take care of all that messy business so that nobody else would ever need my attention or compassion or care or anything. Well I mean obviously I wouldn't be the one to build it because to build it would require interfacing with all these suffering people and that would be community and that's annoying but somebody else should do that so that I don't have to do anything. When I'm in trouble, society should mobilize to help me, but when other people are in trouble, I shouldn't have to extend any effort for somebody else to help them. Care labor is unnecessary, nobody should care for each other because it's icky and yucky and gross and if you're caring for somebody you're not caring for everybody else on the planet and that's hypocrisy. How dare you? How dare you care for the people around you instead of building the State? <- what some people sound like
when england lose, women bruise
wanna hang out [remembers it's rude to put expectations on people] it's cool if not [remembers people like to know they're wanted] but I'd really like it if you did [remembers selfishness is bad] we can do whatever you want though [remembers that handing someone a blank canvas isn't as effective as providing a suggestion to bounce ideas off of] like sucking each others fingers for example
this morning i got a spam call that just played clown waiting music for a few seconds and then hung up on me. which really pissed me off a lot
looking for a job and hoping for a callback only to get clownrolled is insane
one of my creative writing professors once said that to evaluate a work as good or not, first you ask what the work is attempting to do, and then you evaluate how well it does it. and this is how to judge everything from critical essays to romance novels to snack packaging to theory tracts.

one time I went over to a friend's house and their housemate was making paper in the living room, and we saw this big tub full of water they were using to dissolve old scrap paper into a slurry, and everyone was immediately like "oh, you need scrap paper?" and started turning out their jacket pockets and producing expired coupons and bus tickets and crumpled receipts and old shopping lists and whatever else they'd been carrying round with them for no good reason, and passing it all to the paper-making housemate to make sure it was suitable before it got torn up and dropped into the tub, while people took turns stirring the slurry with a big wooden stick. it was strangely ritualistic, like presenting an offering to some kind of temple elder for inspection before placing it in a watery shrine to be devoured and reformed. pulp for the pulp god.
