I’m just calling it right now: either The Duffers or someone else prominent in the writing room is queer and spearheading this aspect of the story. Will’s queer arc has been so painstakingly slow in its crafting (from the original pitch of the show!), and his heart is so gently cradled by the writers. Held with such empathy. Someone is self-inserting and working to heal their inner child, here, and it isn’t just the audience (see also: me lol).

Also? There is no way they can end Stranger Things with one of their main characters hating the core of who he is - especially not when the core of who he is is so explicitly tied to such a pure love (his love and best friendship with Mike).

Byler is endgame. Nothing else makes narrative sense. They can’t leave Will like this - they can’t leave a massive thematic loose thread like this 🤷
