Why the fuck would hopper read el Anne of Green Gables. What is wrong with him.
god i miss her
Only just now am I considering series 2 Steve Harrington having to get through the rest of his school year. It's November and he's spent the entire semester only hanging out with his girlfriend, who's just dumped him for Jonathan Byers. The new king of the school just beat him up BADLY, no one thinks he's cool or popular, he doesn't seem to have friends on the basketball team, he's not in any other clubs, his parents are never home, and none of his old friends talk to him either.
Honestly,, it's no wonder him and dustin became so close bc the rest of his year must have been unbelievably lonely and difficult
Imagine a version of season 2 where Mike and El had never been dating but instead ended up as best friends and Mike was grieving for El but tried to move on with life and they ended up finding each other and he went with her to Kali's gang and Mike came back with a mohawk
Bad Intentions
Chapter 29
I walked back into the main party area and quickly scanned the room for Billy. I found him across the room with his dumb ass friend and Chris. They were all drinking and that bitch had herself latched to his arm.
“Fuck this.” I said as I turned and hurried out the front door.
I didn't even make it off the porch when I saw Eddie walking across the front yard. He made eye contact with me and smiled. The same big happy smile he always seemed to have on his face. It was crazy how just seeing him lightened my mood slightly. I stepped down the stairs and met him halfway.
“You came.” I said to him.
“You asked me too.” He replied, causing me to smile which I didn't think would be possible after tonight's disaster.
I looked back to the house contemplating if I wanted to go back inside. I mean he came all this way for me. I should at least go in with him for a little.
“Do you want to get out of here?” He asked me, causing me to look back at him.
“You don't want to go inside?” I asked him.
“Not at all. I came to hang out with you and here you are.” He answered me.
It was crazy how honest he was. I was not used to people like him. He seemed so genuine, I hoped he was and it was not just an act.
“I actually would like to be anywhere but here.” I told him.
“Then your chariot awaits, My Lady.” He responded as he bowed slightly and motioned with his arms towards a large brown van with a white stripe down the middle.
I laughed at his antics, and he seemed to enjoy my reaction.
“Let's get out of here.” I told him as I started walking towards his van.
He quickly followed after me and when we got close to the van he ran past me. For a second I was confused as to what he was doing. That was until he reached the passenger side door and opened it for me.
“What are you doing?” I asked him.
“A Lady should never open her own door.” He answered with his big goofy smile.
“Thank you.” I replied as I curtsy in response which made him practically bonch with excitement.
I climbed into the van and he shut the door behind me and then literally ran around the front of the van to climb into the driver's seat. Once he was in he looked over to me.
“Where too?” He asked.
“Can I ask you for a favor?” I asked him.
“Yeah sure.” He answered but looked a little concerned.
“First, would you mind picking up my sister? She's trick or treating not far from here. She needs a ride home.” I asked him.
“Of course, where are you supposed to pick her up?” He asked with a smile as if I didn't ask him to go out of his way.
“You really don't care about driving out of your way to pick her up?” I asked him.
“No, why would I? What's the alternative, leaving a young girl estranged outside all night by herself?” He asked.
“Why are you so nice?” I asked him wondering if I had ulterior motives.
“I’m not being nice. I’m just being a decent human being.” He answered.
“Maple Street.” I told him.
“Great, I know exactly where that is.” He said excitedly.
“Oh and just so you know I’m not a Lady.” I told him, causing him to blush and look away then start the Van.
When the Van turned on Flight of Icarus by Iron Maiden was blaring from his speakers. I jumped from the loudness of the music. I was not expecting it and for a second it scared the shit out of me. He quickly reached over and turned off the radio.
“Oh shit sorry. I forgot I had the music on.” He apologized.
“No it was just a surprise, you don't have to apologize and you don't have to turn it off. I love that song.” I told him, causing his head to shoot in my direction.
His mouth was slightly hanging open as he looked like he was in complete shock.
“Did I break you?” I asked as I laughed at him.
“What is the name of the band?” He asked me as if he didn't believe me.
“It's Icarus and before you ask the song is Flight of Icarus.” I answered him.
“Holy shit you listen to Iron Maiden?” He asked me in utter disbelief.
“Why is that so hard to believe?” I asked him.
“None of the girls around here listen to music like that.” He answered.
“Well it's a good thing I’m not from around here.” I answered him.
“That's a great thing.” He replied as he pulled out of his parking spot.
“So what's your favorite band?” He asked me once we were driving down the street.
“It's a toss up depending on my mood.” I answered him.
“Between?” He asked.
“Ac/dc or Metallica.” I answered, causing him to fake swoon.
“A girl after my own heart.” He said dramatically as he placed his closed fist over his heart. “Where have you been my entire life?”
“In California.” I answered as I found myself laughing again.
“Hey, can you pass me my lunch box?” He asked me.
I looked behind me to see a tin lunch box sitting in tha back.
“Yeah sure.” I answered as I turned around and reached for it.
When I grabbed it and sat back in my chair I caught him staring at my ass. I didn't say anything because he truthfully looked embarrassed.
“So are you hungry or something?” I asked him.
“No…well actually yes, but that's not what's in there.” He answered.
I opened it up to see that his lunch box was filled with drugs. He looked over to me, a little nervous. He was waiting to see if it would scare me away.
“That's a lot.” I said as I looked down at the different bags of weed, pills and other things I didn't know.
“Ummm yeah, if you don't mind could you hand me a joint?” He asked.
“I don't mind.” I answered as I pulled one out and handed it to him. “We just need to finish it before my sister gets in the car.” I told him.
“We?” He asked.
“Oh yeah, it would be rude of me to let you smoke on your own.” I cxanswered him.
He lit the joint and took a large drag of it before exhaling and handing it over to me.
“Do you smoke?” He asked me.
I didn't answer him. I just pulled the joint up to my lips and took a drag just as large as him and exhaled it into a large cloud in the van. I then handed it back to him and he took it with a smile.
“So where do you get all that shit?” I asked him as he took another drag.
He exhaled and handed it back to me.
“I actually sell them.” He answered as I took it from him. “You're a drug dealer?” I asked him in disbelief.
“It's not like I want to, but I need the money.” He answered.
“Hey I’m not judging you it just your different then the drug dealers in California who are scary as fuck.” I told him.
“Everyone else here would disagree with you.” He replied.
“Well there fucking idiots, theres not a scary bone in your body.” I told him.
We passed the joint back and forth until it was done.
“How much longer?” I asked, considering Billy drove like a mad man. I was not used to driving around at the legale speed.
I could hear Eddie’s voice in the background but I could hear what he was saying. His voice sounded so far away. I was starting to get dizzy, like the world was rushing past me. What the fuck was in that weed? I thought as I tried to focus on Eddie's voice but then all of a sudden I felt like I was falling.
I was looking up at a dark sky, and all I could see was the tops of tall trees and the white ash like specks from my dream last night falling from the air. I could hear rumbling in the background that had replaced Eddie's voice. I stood up and looked around at where I was standing. It looked like a normal neighborhood, it actually looked familiar as if I had been here before, but everything was falling apart and covered in thick, almost alive looking vines.
“Mike?” I yelled.
Wait, that wasn't my voice. It was a little boy's voice. What the hell is going on?
“Mike?” He yelled out again.
As I or he was moving around the empty street. A street light on the corner was the only source of light. Everything seemed so dark.
“Mike!” We yelled again as we walked down a street that was deserted but lined with more of the street lamps and tall black dead trees.
Then all of a sudden from the woods off to the side I heard a strange noise. It was like nothing I ever heard before. I looked in that direction and could see anything in the darkness. The noise continued as it started moving around me, maybe coming from behind the abandoned cars. Then the little noises were overtaken by a loud rumbling that came from the end of the street. I looked that way and saw a massive shadow of what I thought was a hill up until this point. It got taller as if it was standing up. It was still moving towards the sky but already stood over the trees. I was frozen in fear as I watched it get bigger and listened to its growling get louder. Once it was standing it started to spread out and it looked like an octopus if it was massive and made out of scary spinning air.
It turned around as if it had noticed me, I could not make out amu facial features but I knew it was looking at me.
I turned and ran behind the closest house. I didnt turn around but I could hear the thing chasing me. I ran around it and down some stairs that were in the back of the house. When I reached the bottom of the stairs I sat down and hid behind a brick pole. I wanted to run but just like last night I had no control. I just sat there hugging my legs and when I did I noticed the pants and sleeve of my shirt were a light tan color that I kind of recognized but couldn't place. I could hear the wind approaching and then screamed out as something grabbed me.
“Shit! Leslie, are you okay?” I could hear Eddie asking but couldn't see him yet.
My eyes were still coming into focus. The last thing I remember seeing before my vision cleared surprisingly was a ghost.
“Leslie! Leslie!” Eddie called out again as he softly tapped my face.
I blinked my eyes a few more times until everything came into focus. I was now able to see that Eddie had pulled the van over at some point. I was still sitting in the passenger side seat but he had the door open and was standing outside as he leaned over me.
“Oh my god you're awake?” He said as he released a loud sigh. “Are you okay? What the fuck was that?” He asked me.
“I don't know what happened?” I asked as I looked around trying to figure out how this could have happened.
I wasn't asleep.
“I was talking to you and you didn't answer. When I looked over you were staring off into space. At first I thought I said something to make you angry and you were ignoring me but then you started thrashing around and screaming. It was like you were having a bad dream but you were awake.” He explained.
“Shit Eddie, I’m sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.” I told him.
“You don't need to apologize but I would like to make sure I didn't give you bad weed or something,” he said.
“It's not your weed Eddie it's me.” I answered him as I put my face in my hands.
I was so embarrassed.
“Hey why don't you come outside and get some fresh air for a minute and if you want you can talk about it. If you don't want to, we don't have to.” He told me as he held his hand out to me to help me out of the van.
I took his hand and was happy that I did because I was still very light headed.
“Hey I got you.” Eddie said as he helped me keep my balance and walked me over to the curb so I could sit down.
“Do you want to tell me what you mean by its you?” He asked me.
“I dont know whats wrong with me?” I answered. “I think I’m going crazy.” I told him.
“Why? Why do you think you're going crazy?” He asked.
“I have had really bad nightmares since I was a kid but since we moved here they have gotten worse. Last night I actually sleeping walked out of my house. I have never done that before. And it felt so real. Right now it was the same thing but I don't understand how that happened. I wasn't asleep.” I told him.
“Maybe you drifted off for a second and that's all it took.” He told me.
“Maybe.” I answered.
“Why do you sound worried?” He asked.
“Last night I didn't remember falling asleep either. I didt realize I was asleep until I woke up. What if I’m still asleep now?” I asked him.
“I don't know how to help you.” He told me.
“You can't?” I told him as I placed my head in my hands again.
“You must be terrified to sleep.” He said to me as he sat down next to me.
“It comes and goes. I haven't had a nightmare in months. So the sleep becomes easier then there are times where I can't sleep for days because of the dreams.” I answered him honestly.
“There's no medicine or anything they can give you so you don't dream?” He asked me.
“They tried. Some work more than others but I don't want to take them.” I answered him.
“Did I fall asleep?” I asked him.
“You must have.” He answered me.
“We should get going. Max is probably worried.” I said as I stood up.
“Are you sure you're okay?” He asked me again.
“No, but it I don't matter.” I told him.
“Of course you matter.” He replied.
“Can we just go and please dont tell my sister what happened. I don't want to worry her.” I asked him.
“Sure.” He answered and went and opened the door for me again before getting in and driving down the road.
He didn't say anything as we drove but I could see him out of the side of my eyes looking at me every few seconds to make sure I was okay. A few minutes later I saw her. She was holding her mask and standing near two boys.
“She's over there.” I told Eddie as I pointed to her. When we got a little closer I recognized the two boys from the group of kids Billy almost ran off the road earlier today. We pulled up to a stop next to them getting strange looks from the group. I rolled down the window and Max relaxed when she saw me but then looked confused.
“Where's Billy?” Max asked “And whose van is this?”
“That would be me. Hi, I’m Eddie.” He said as he leaned over to my side of the Van so she could see him.
I got out of the Van and looked at the two boys she was with.
“Where's Billy?” She asked again.
“He wanted to stay at the party so I got a different ride.” I told her.
“Who are your friends?” I asked.
She didn't answer right away so the boys did it for her.
“Hi, I’m Lucas.” One said and then the other answered. “I'm Dustin.”
“Nice to meet you guys. I’m Leslie, Max’s sister. Thanks for keeping her company tonight.” I told them.
“No problem at all. She's really cool.” Lucas said.
“Yeah supper cool.” Dustin added.
I couldn't help but wonder if they both had a crush on her.
“Well we should get going.” I told them.
“By guys.” Max said as she opened the back door to climb in.
Once she was in I gave Eddie our address and he started driving towards our house. After a few minutes of silence Max spoke up.
“How the hell did you get away from Billy?” She asked as she looked at Eddie.
“I told you he wanted to stay so I left and he stayed.” I answered her.
“He never would have let you leave with another guy.” She said, calling my bluff.
“Am I in danger for driving you home?” Eddie asked jokingly.
“No.” I answered him and at the same time Max answered “Yes.”
“Wait, I wasn't being serious.” He said.
“Well I was.” Max said, scaring him even more.
A few minutes later we pulled up to the house and I let out a large sigh of relief when I noticed neither Neil or Billy were home.
“Thanks for the ride but if you're trying to hook up with my sister it's not going to happen.” Max said as she jumped out of the van.
“Max!” I yelled at her. “Don't be rude.”
“Just speaking the truth.” She said then stopped walking when she realized I hadn't gotten out of the van.
“Are you coming?” She asked me.
“Actually, no. I’m not tired. I think I’ll hang out with Eddie for a little. I mean if that's okay?” I asked.
He looked very surprised that I wanted to hang out with him longer than just the car ride.
“Yeah of course that's okay with me.” He answered.
“Whatever but you better get home before Neil or Billy.” Max said then walked to the house.
I sat there and watched her until she was inside.
“So what do you want to do?” He asked me.
“Do you have anything in your lunch box that can keep me awake but also make me forget how much my life sucks?” I asked him.
“I don't know if that's a good idea Leslie. I mean if you're already seeing things and can't even tell if you're awake or not I don't know if adding hard core drugs to the mix is a good idea.” He told me.
“Look, I'm not some sweet little girl. I have done drugs before. I know what I can and can not handle. And if you wont give me what I need I’ll just find someone else.” I told him as I reached for the door handle to exit his van.
“Have you ever taken MDMA?” He asked me before I could leave the van.
“Once or twice.” I answered him with a smile MDMA was exactly what I needed.
“The little round blue pills in the clear baggies.” He answered me.
I dug through his lunch box until I found what he had said. I opened up the bag and pulled out two.
“How many are you taking?” He asked me when he noticed more than one in my hand.
“Just one. This one's for you.” I told him as I handed him the second one.
“You're a bad influence, giving me drugs. How could you?” He joked.
“Shut up and take your pill.” I told him as I popped mine in my mouth.
He smiled and then did the same.
“Where too?” He asked.
“Why don't you take me somewhere you like to go. I know nothing about this town.” I told him.
“I know just the spot and we should get there right when they start kicking in.” He answered then sped off down the street.
