nintendo could step it way the fuck up and make an actually good game thats not entirely reliant on tried and true pokemon mechanical gimmicks to keep people buying it. SuMo got very close and also mixed a lot of things up; some of it was successful, some of it wasn’t. the narrative was actually serious and compelling and kept my interest. but it could have done better, been more cohesive, felt more true to form etc. etc.
