Finished sketchbook! I had a run of absolutely awful drawings at the beginning of this sketchbook, so I kind of thought “oh well, I ruined it, guess this will just be a learning experience and I’ll throw the sketchbook out as soon as I’ve filled it up with more bad drawings. woohoo :/“ But this actually has been one of my favorite sketchbooks I’ve done recently - I think because I was free from the fear that comes with the pressure to make every page perfect. And instead I ended up trying to learn something with each page. And finding the joy and fun in the process. There ARE a lot of bad drawings in this sketchbook! But there are also a lot that I love. And more importantly, lots and lots of drawings that I LEARNED from. I guess we’ve all heard that a lot, but I feel like I have to keep re-learning it by experience. In both drawing and life! Fear of failure messes us up even more than actual failure sometimes (and “learning experience” doesn’t have to be a euphemism for “really terrible experience”!)
