It’s harvest season,my favorite time of the year and the best time to live in New England!
Harvest season means:
pumpkin beers and lattes
canning, blanching, and freezing this year’s crops
homemade applesauce and baked goodies
general preparation for the upcoming holiday season (my second mot favorite time of the year)
and allergies
Yes, thats right, my favorite time of the year is blemished by a horrible ragweed allergy that leaves me with itchy eyes and my voice cracking while I sneeze like it is my job. As an adult I have many over the counter options on how to treat the allergies. I personally usually just drink a cup of tea with honey to soothe my throat and use an allergy eye drop as that keeps me comfortable with minimal effort (plus caffeine!). Sadly I seem to have also passed these allergies on to my son (sorry Liam). This year we were lucky enough to be chosen for a BzzFeed campaign to try out Children’s Claritin Allergy.
Liam had been suffering through the sneezing, runny nose, itchy eye symptoms off and on for a few weeks now and some days they are truly making him miserable. He is actually coming up and telling me that he feels “cranky” which I strongly suspect is because of his allergies. A few weeks ago we received our bottle of Claritin Children’s Allergy medicine in the mail and have enthusiastically used it a few times at this point. It is a very effective way to relieve his allergy symptoms when they are at their worst allowing us to enjoy some of our favorite outdoor fall activities like apple picking or going to the fair without the misery of allergies bringing us down. At just over two years old there are not a lot of medication options for the treatment of allergies and we are so thankful for the option of using non-drowsy Children’s Claritin!
