Happy holidays, here's some quixbert angst inspired by the yule log for the c!sherbert enjoyers

Icarus hates the name Sherbert because it isn’t theirs in the same way their eye isn’t theirs

To them it’s just another thing that Quixis has changed, just another part of them that has been destroyed by this mysterious entity

Fable knows this

He knows about the names association to the false god and he knows about Icarus’ hatred for it

But that association is the exact reason he called them it

He doesn’t see or care for Icarus as his child anymore

He sees them as a gateway into Quixis’ power and cares for them as such

He doesn’t see Icarus as Icarus anymore, he sees them as Sherbert, an extension of Quixis

so like...C!Sherb is totally gonna be the new quixis soon right? am I crazy? I don't think I'm crazy

like doing all the ocean monuments and deep dark and stuff like that feels like cc!Sherb is setting up for their story to come to a close, at least for a while. Like whether or not they die doing the deep dark today, it provides a conclusion. if they survive, they've conquered all their fears. they've conquered everything in the world that could hurt them, they have nothing to be scared of. If they die, well... they'll come back but if they had to take a long break for a while (say to go govern the multiverse or something) it would work.

And like, idk, the quartz in the path doesn't feel like a purposeful glitch. it doesn't feel like a lot of the more symbolic or meaningful glitches from the past. If Icarixis was trying to send them a message wouldn't they use like, flowers or something? because flowers are like the least harmful of all the glitches (maybe? don't quote me on that?) so maybe its the wack? but I thought the eye was supposed to come before the wack so I'm a lil confused and I may be wrong

and like with the Fable finale anniversary at the end of this week it feels a bit fitting? like Idk maybe its just wishful thinking that Icarus gets to go home for the anniversary but idk let me have whimsey ok
