hi, no. going on to other people's posts and attacking them for interpreting a fictional character (emphasis on fictional) how they want is not the way to solve the lack of representation in the aroace community. it only makes people think we're annoying and not want to listen to us. are sex/romance repulsed aspec people extremely underrepresented? absolutely. I myself am a romance and sex repulsed aro ace person, trust me, i get it. however, there are better ways than being chronically online about it. Saiki is not canonically aroace. His sexuality is quite open to interpretation.
Also, in terms of promoting acceptance for the aspec community, it's actually better to promote him as a romance-repulsed sex-repulsed allo. This is because a lot of aphobia stems from autonormativity. People tend to not accept us because they believe that romantic relationships and sex are the end-all be-all of love. However, platonic relationships and other non-romantic non-sexual forms of relationships are equally valuable forms of love.
Saiki is not just romance and sex-repulsed. He's people repulsed. He's an introvert to the extreme. While the coding is undeniable, we must look at the broader context and understand the point of view of the other interpretations of Saiki.

I agree with this statement. We exist, and nothing will change that. We do have a place in society and art and culture. This is not in debate. However, the more we push the divide between people who view him as allo vs people who view him as aspec, the more animosity than unity we gain. Unfortunately, we are not the majority and we are not in the position to just yell and get angry until people listen to us. Instead of seeing your lovely, nicely put comments and thinking "wow, this person has a point, we should listen to them" they are more inclined to think "wow, aspec people are assholes. we should block them".
A better way to advocate for representation is A) make your own content that does not belittle others and B) Promote characters who are canonically aspec. A good example of a canonically sex-repulsed asexual character is Riz Gukgak from Dimension 20!
Disagree with statements and posts talking about how Saiki being ace is "ridiculous" or "stupid". Kindly (emphasis on kindly) point out that that is aphobia, and that even if they do not intepret Saiki that way, it is still a valid interpretation. If they continue to be an asshole, there's a shiny block button that serves people wonders for finding peace in online spaces. Highly reccommend.

Our place is important. But we do not fight with it by being chronically online and attacking post after post after post. Instead, we create our own spaces. We advocate and we share and we teach.
I have been waiting my entire life to see myself represented in media. I am still waiting. But you know what? If I see myself in Saiki, I am represented. I will fight for my right to have my headcanon respected and heard. But I will not push away my fellow fans of Saiki because we have different points of view on what is not canon. Media is political, there is no question about that. But sometimes it really isn't that deep. Are some people in the Saiki fandom aphobic? yes. should we call it out when we see it? yes. Is the little stunt you pulled on my post the way to go about it? absolutely not. stop pissing on the poor and go make your own post.
