After returning from the time capsule reveal, as is often the case with any sort of event in the town, Belva is more confused than before it began. She can’t quite make sense of all of the clips, of who found them and put them all together, and what they even meant in doing so. Although perhaps she should have been more concerned about July’s strange smile and whatever was happening in the video that took place at the foundation, her mind loops on that video of her mother. On the strange realization that perhaps there was something distant about her smile, a distance that Belva had never quite put together before.
Curled up on the couch in the living room, bathed in the light of a small lamp, she absentmindedly flips through the latest copy of Vogue.
