Kate sat at the table next to her niece, picking up some of the food in front of her to help feed her. She let a wide smile come along her features as she scrunched her nose up at the little girl in front of her, a little girl that was going to be one in October. It was hard to believe how quick life had gone by because it was like yesterday where she was sitting in front of her sister’s high chair and feeding her. She turned her head to look over at the woman sitting next to her, watching her as she talked to her husband. After a few minutes, she heard Julia speak next to her. “Sorry, I was paying too much attention to your adorable daughter. What did you say?”

Maybe she should have called first before showing up at the Townsend’s home, but she had one week of free time before her college summer classes started. Which meant she had one week to have as much fun as possible - and that lead her to Julia. The girl who never failed to make things interesting. Almost sighing in relief when who she was looking for answered the day, a bright smile appeared on her face. “Julia! I know it’s super duper short notice, but some guy at work told me about a party he’s having and... Free drinks was an offer I thought you’d want in on. And you know if we don’t show up, they’ll be missing the two prettiest girls around.” @thcprcblem

Losing Starcourt Mall had its ups and downs. Most of the big name stores, Scoops Ahoy included, had packed up and left Hawkins years ago. But that also meant businesses in Downtown Hawkins were thriving again. There were some places in the mall that couldn’t be replaced. Luckily for Steve, there was still a movie theater down the road from where he went to high school.

During the summer after Starcourt shut down, he spent many afternoons there. He worked in a video store, but watching VHS tapes just wasn’t the same as going to the movies. That, and Robin insisted he keep up to date on all the latest flicks.

Steve was just leaving a matinee when he happened to see a familiar face standing in the lobby.

Julia.

 He couldn’t believe his luck. Moreover, he couldn’t believe that she hadn’t called before showing up in Hawkins. It had been months since they last talked to each other over the phone, but Steve had the same cheery disposition that he’d always had when he approached her. It was almost like nothing had changed.

“Well, will you look who it is. Going to see a movie before you see me? I almost have half a mind to be offended.”

James smiled when he saw the redhead. “Julia, hi,” James said. “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other. Since my graduation maybe?”
