I've obviously fallen into the ZLH pit (well, who could have thought, ahah XD), unsurprisingly, like with most actors, there's just that one role that does it for you and puff - you're gone))
Trying not to obsess over a pretty guy here - but he's so refreshingly rational and smart in his interviews, that background in physics do be showing in his thought process and approach to acting. I also appreciate that he's self-taught and comes from a different background altogether (just like Liu Yuning and Liu Shishi, my beloveds, whom I adore). I have a soft spot for actors who start as something else entirely and then just learn stuff on the go... that's a whole different level of talent and dedication to the craft that you sorta jump into - because you have the opportunity and you're good at it. Also, turning your life around completely is inspirational af (at least to me :D).
This makes me wonder just how someone enters the c-ent like this without proper education? In his interviews, ZLH says he's basically learning stuff on set, and keeps on learning all the time, which is amazing, and I do tend to think that the lack of formal education in this particular field can be rather a blessing in disguise, resulting in fresher and more genuine performances, but still, it's a bit of a mystery. Some actors spend years before getting to leading roles, while others appear seemingly out of nowhere and turn into stars. It just looks very fascinating to me, although I have no idea how c-ent functions in reality XD
