I know they're trying to streamline and simplify the characters in the animation and I totally understand why, however I really hope they don't take away Caduceus capsizing that ship and give it to Fjord because he's the "ocean" guy with the "water" powers. For starters, Fjord will never be that cool lol. But it's also one of the many things that fascinated Fjord about Caduceus. Fjord was interested in Caduceus from the jump for many reasons, but I think his command of the elements really impressed Fjord. I don't think he'd ever met someone so gentle (and emotionally intelligent) yet powerful before. And that all goes into his masculinity issues he eventually works through.
I thought it was hilarious that most of the mighty nein had control water, but they probably won't do that in the animation. At the very least though, Caduceus should still have it. It's also a perfect subtle thread tying the two characters together early. Nature powers, but from two different sources. Dark and light.
IT HAS STARTED
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THESE ADS
It’s Campaign 2, Episode 47. A random pirate ship starts following the Balleater after Fjord unseals the second seal. They attempt to run, but the ship outpaces them...
Then Caduceus one-shot capsizes it with a Control Water and Matt throws out initiative order.
The conversation that Nott and Caleb have at the end of episode 47... The tenderness and the tension... The way Nott comes so close to telling Caleb more about herself, about Yeza... The way she comes so close to asking Caleb to change her, and you can see that he sees it, what she’s getting at, but he doesn’t acknowledge it... The way he tells her he’s proud of her... The way he says he doesn’t have anyone he cares about except for her, the way she doesn’t seem to think that’s right... There is so much in that little conversation.
Post underwater crab fight
Liam/Caleb: “I am dropping and leaning against Beauregard, focusing my arcane energies.”
I love that this is like a thing, the human/Empire kids get the crap beat out of them then they lean against each other to recover
JESTER: Be safe, Fjord. And also, don't turn evil, okay? But if you do, I'll still be your friend. I mean, it's okay. You know, some people are evil. It's okay. Just don't turn evil to me.
FJORD: Or anyone else? Just you?
JESTER: Really, any of us would be nice, but--
FJORD: Deal.
There is so much going on at the table right now I don’t even know where to look 😂
