I saw a few comments on ScryTube praising Fjord’s ‘tough but necessary choice’ but I gotta say, strategically, it meant little to nothing and even risked their sneak factor. It was NOT a brilliant and hard choice. It was a gamble, and one that only didn’t ruin their element of surprise because the Tomb Takers were too hot-headed to pause.
3 hours left on the rest clock? There’s no way any Rangers would have slowed them down enough for that. If anything, it could have made them more cautious, or prompted them to go down into the tunnel FASTER to get out of sight of what they assumed were just standard Dynasty Outpost men. It was a brief distraction at best, and at worst it was a slaughter.
Idk man, just doesn’t sit right with me. Big “Some of you may die, but that is a risk I am willing to take” vibes.
It’s in character for Fjord, and in terms of roleplay, I fully respect it but man.... still don’t like it.
I will say - their pessimism is unearned. They took out 3 whole threats. That’s huge. Now Cree and Lucien are alone in the ruins, and the M9 have a clear path to follow them. There are PLENTY of ways to head them off, even with an 8 hour rest involved. They’re not rested enough to get to do anything just be a nuisance.
AAARGH IT’S SO HARD NOT TO JUST FORGO REST AND BINGE THIS ENTIRE THING..................... but like the casters, I need my long rest.
