Hi!!!! how far are you from finish WS Audio Commentary??? :D
Hey! I’ve got 5 more posts queued and after that it’s ‘The First Avenger’.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier Audio Commentary:
“Let’s talk about the setting of the Triskellion. We thought a lot about where to put it, and there was something very appealing about setting it there on Roosevelt Island and the Potomac for a number of reasons. On one side of the building there’s classical D.C. and what that represents, and on the other side of the river you have Rosslyn, Virginia with all the new glass modern towers. You try to work the theme of the film into the fabric of your design choices, and this building is sort of sitting between the past and the present or the future. There’s also a very practical thing. We were gonna bring 3 helicarriers over Washington, D.C., and you can’t have them crash in to the city. So if they’re going straight up from the river, they fall straight down back to the river. And it’s the way we avoided mass tragedy.”
Hi! Thanks again for all the CATWS commentary transcripts; they're totally awesome. Just wanted to mention here though that you've got a typo in the latest (March 29) post: all the "motif"s should be "motive"s. (A motif is a pattern; a motive is a reason-to-act-a-certain-way.) Your hard work does not go unappreciated; we read every word! :)
Aw, thank you for the message and thank you so much for noticing the mistake and pointing it out to me! I’ve corrected it in the post. If you notice anything else that slipped through, please let me know, I do appreciate it :)
Hey! Thanks so much for continuing to do the commentary! I can't imagine how much work it is gif-ing all the scenes and writing down word from word what all 4 of them are saying! Did the commentary say anything else that was especially interesting about Natasha/Scarlett? You already provide some amazing comments about her and her relationship with Steve.
H! Thanks for the message again! To be honest, it is pretty time consuming lol so I’m trying to queue up several posts now while I have some free time. Yes, there are actually several more interesting bits about Natasha re: her character development and relationship with Steve! I’m trying to post bits in non-chronological order though so that it’s more varied but there are about 2 more weeks worth of posts left so look out for those :) xx
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for transcribing the CATWS commentary -- you are doing this fandom such a service!
Aw, thank you so much for the lovely message! :’) It’s really fun transcribing/gifing the commentary, to be honest!
So I just finished watching CATFA with the commentary and let me tell you, CATWS commentary is miles better. Seriously, 80% of it is them talking about green screens and ‘oh we added a lense flair here’ and fucking detailed descriptions of what’s cgi in the scene (which, we get it, almost all of it is, no need to give me a list of every lamp post that was inserted in). And then the other 20% is them fanboying over Chris Evans (which was infinitely more interesting, obviously). Practically no discussion about character development except for like 2 scenes. I still plan to gif the shit out of those 20% though after I’m done with CATWS.
oh my goodness! your ca: tws commentary gifsets hooked me so much <3 please continue to make them! it's such a refreshing thing to see it pop out on my desk once in a while c:
Aw, thanks so much for the message! I’m glad you like them! I still have about 1/3 of the commentary left to gif/upload (the interesting non-technical parts of it, I mean), so it will definitely keep on coming for some time xx
