Was James in the promo? If not, that's interesting...

He wasn’t, but that scene was brief and the promo featured scenes from the entire season so I don’t think him not being in that shot necessarily means anything. Considering that James is her right hand man, her very best lieutenant, if he didn’t come back from Bolivia I don’t think Camila would be in a champagne kind of mood.

What is it about Natasha's vision that makes her so sad and down? Or is she out of it just because she was/is in a trace?

Uuum well you do know Natasha’s comic background, right? Like, the real, actual origin she has from her childhood on, not that fuckup Brubaker came up with. Her life was messed up from early age on, and it’s not fun to relive that all again.

Hello! Thank you so much for continuing to answer questions! I just wanted to get a sense of what Steve and Nick told Natasha at the end of the film to do "damage control" as you said. Also, by "damage control" do you mean that they just talked with her to calm her down and ease her slightly?

Steve kind of tries to cheer her up before they start training the new team.

Nick’s and her conversation is basically Whedon’s pathetic attempt of justifying this fuck up in pretending, Nick sent Nat to get Bruce in Avengers 1 because he hoped there would be something between them. Which is wrong on so many levels that I want to puke my guts out. And even Scarlett already said that she didn’t understand the script and that this scene in Avengers 1 between her and Bruce was in no way intended to be that way. But whoever cares what the female says when whitemale Ruffalo has a brainfart and Whedon just rolls with it.

I have one last question- How is the Steve/Nat friendship portrayed, if at all? I heard that they don't really have too much of an interaction since everyone is so busy....

I can only confirm that. There is not enough time to focus on them as much as in, say, Cap 2. But it’s still there :)

Hey! Thanks so much for continuing to do the commentary! I can't imagine how much work it is gif-ing all the scenes and writing down word from word what all 4 of them are saying! Did the commentary say anything else that was especially interesting about Natasha/Scarlett? You already provide some amazing comments about her and her relationship with Steve.

H! Thanks for the message again! To be honest, it is pretty time consuming lol so I’m trying to queue up several posts now while I have some free time. Yes, there are actually several more interesting bits about Natasha re: her character development and relationship with Steve! I’m trying to post bits in non-chronological order though so that it’s more varied but there are about 2 more weeks worth of posts left so look out for those :) xx
