Republicans are swimming against a riptide of late ballots that have been benefiting Democrats.
Florida is not the only place which is still counting or recounting ballots for close races for both houses of Congress.
Two congressional districts near Los Angeles (CA-39 and CA-45) have yet to be decided as of early Thursday.
Unlike Florida, these are ballots just getting counted for the first time. In context, over 3 million ballots in California (currently) have yet to be processed. Vote-by-mail ballots can take time to count. But provisional ballots require even more time because every one of those ballots represents some sort of discrepancy or issue which must be resolved one ballot at a time. Los Angeles County alone has 405,000 unprocessed provisional ballots as I write this.
