Cabbage Onion Fry up
www.diabetesinsider.tumblrcom
An old fashioned dish but works well as part of my diabetic diet. Who would have thought? Another part of my criterion for home cooking is - Does this take much time or effort to fix? If the answer is no, then my answer is yes this is on the menu tonight!
olive oil
1/2 head green cabbage, sliced in thin crescents
1 large onion, thin sliced in crescents
dash salt/pepper
In a large fry pan, splash some olive oil. Add cabbage and onion tossing well in the oil to coat. Saute until cabbage is just tender. Salt and pepper to taste. This is great served with a slice of pork roast and crunchy green salad.
When I’m not furiously carving up a cabbage for family dinners, I’m sewing cotton pocket crafting aprons for my online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/topdrawerthreads . Or I’m listening to audio books and busily knitting stocking caps from upcycled yarn for my other shop - www.etsy.com/shop/topdraweryarns .
My daughter’s have an online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/yesdesigns - where they design and sew cotton pocket knickers for fun and frolic in bold prints.
My older daughter has an online shop - www.etsy.com/shop/wildwovenwomen - where she works upcycled yarns into knitted striped afghans.
