Hey there 🖤 This is one of my favorite dimensions, probably because it was so hard to do. Isometric is still a relatively new thing for me, so drawing a hexagonal cabin with what felt like thoooousands of pickets in the railing was ... hard 😅

This is a friend’s cabin in Canada - they built it for a huge LARP called Bicolline. Any fellow larpers out there? What would the perfect larping dimension look like?

Repost from @dwellmagazine This 400-square-foot “Jappalachian-style” cabin, set in the woods of Western North Carolina, stands as an experiment in storytelling. Owner and documentary photographer Mike Belleme—whose work has appeared in National Geographic, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times—had finished a five-year, back-to-the-land documentary project wherein he and his now-wife Kristen retreated to a tree house to reconnect with nature. Compelled to share the transformative experience beyond photography, @mikebelleme went about constructing The Nook, a blend of Japanese tranquility, Scandinavian simplicity, and a handmade, Appalachian sensibility. He brought on friends at @shelterprotectsyou, an interior and architectural design studio, to implement a design that took shape over the course of construction, implementing an inventory of dead and fallen trees from the forest. White oak, red oak, black walnut, and black locust comprise the cabin, mirroring the woods in which it stands just outside of Asheville. Mike and Kristen now rent the cabin, where guests can relax, take in a growing art collection from local makers, and have their own transformative moment of reflection.
