(Learning to use a cable needle, y'all.)
I was wondering how you knit socks with cable needles, because I was thinking of the kind with u-ends, which would make it nigh impossible to reach the ends once you've gone around in a circle, but then I realized you're probably using those kind of cable needles that are shaped like –u– with a pool in the middle, aren't you?
I'm not Shure what you mean with the pool 🤔
I use regular cable needles with a method called "magic loop" it's just easier for me to keep my tension right. I tried dpns but i fuck up the tension so bad on the part where you change the needle... I'd like to practice it one day. I love a good pair of wood dpns
If you search for "magic loop knitting" on YouTube you get TONNS of tutorials :D

Bamboo Cable Needles by CocoKnits
CocoKnits designed these needles with functionality in mind.
I like to use bamboo double-pointed needles for two things, when working cables and when picking up stitches to create the shoulders of a Cocoknits Method sweater. I like that bamboo is “stickier” than metal so the needle doesn’t slip out of my stitches as easily. But, I was constantly storing the needle tucked into my hair or behind my ear, even between my teeth – and I would invariably lose it. This was especially problematic when traveling and knitting! I wanted a bamboo needle that would stick to my Maker’s Keep while not in use and not wind up down the sofa or lost on the floor of an airplane. It took years to get it just right – the metal band around the center of the Cocoknits bamboo cable needles is slightly raised to help keep the needle from slipping out of your stitches while cabling or picking up stitches. The points are purposely blunt so that you can use a fingernail file or pencil sharpener to customize your preferred sharpness on the tips. We included 5 needles from US 2 through US 10.75 to give you a full range of sizes. We hope you love them!

Curved Cable Needles by CocoKnits
Most knitters are familiar with the metal needle with the dip in the middle for holding stitches while working a cable. CocoKnits made sure these were available in a length that is perfect to go on the Cocoknits Maker’s Keep – not too long that it will stab your arm, not too short that they’re too hard to use.
