Picnic anniversary lunch with my love. 20 years and counting.
Having a lovely time with my random stripeys.
Sunday night fair isle.
Need a bit of feedback here. I made 49 MDK washcloths just completely randomly out of a boatload of colors of Knit Picks Dishie. I figured I'd either just give them out to friends eventually, but then got it in my head that this would be a wonderfully gloriously ugly chaotic blanket that I would adore because of how insane and ugly and "rag rug" adjacent it is. I am experiencing a moment of second-guessing while attempting to lay it all out.
I am aware that it is ugly, but is it the right kind of beautiful ugly that I will be in love with? It is much more vibrant up close with all of those variegated colors.
What do we think?
yes, it is the right kind of ugly
no, it is just ugly-ugly, and you are a deranged person

At the end of last semester, my ABSN students got me a big basket of possum-themed items, and I am figuring out where they live in my house. Teaching is the best sometimes.
Some reasons why you should also spend your Christmas watching the @pdceurope World Darts Championship:
1. All of the players have their own unique jersey designs, usually with the incorporation of a particularly insane nickname.
2. Men and women compete together on the same professional level, and the women kick quite a lot of ass.
3. There are regular songs and chants from the crowd, who are all drinking heavily.
4. They are all also wearing costumes.
5. There is a theme song that plays after every win that incorporates an "OY OY OY" part screamed by the crowd.
6. Every single win is also accompanied by pyrotechnics, and there are nearly 3 WEEKS of matches.
7. Every time a player gets a maximum score on their turn, everyone loses their mind and the ref yells "ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY" as loudly as possible.
8. I haven't even gotten into the commentators, who are usually completely unhinged.
Consider joining us for a very Merry Dartsmas this year.
This year's cookie box: classic chocolate chip, chocolate thumbprint cookies with homemade mixed berry jam, chocolate-covered peanut butter balls, and toasted pecan ahortbread.
I feel like I am always intruding on their love story. We are all side characters in the Oscar Loves Indy saga.
Indy 💜 carrots.
India Ink Miller is thankful for carrots and tuna this year. Princess Oscarina is thankful for all of the places she can hide in our house. And tuna.
Me too, Fern.
Dr. Roy ain't afraid of no ghosts.
I painted some pumpkins for my office this year! I may have fully crossed the line into teacherly nerdiness, but didn't they come out cute? That's all that matters, right?
I wonder who did it.
Indy has discovered my laptop case and is now demanding co-author credit on my Population Health lectures.
All of this is sock yarn. Almost 90% of it was acquired after my great Sockpocalypse project during the pandemic. I have learned NOTHING.
(prev tags) looks like a good start to me! sock yarn is so useful! not just for socks. lightweight sweater that feels nice next to your skin (3 1/2-4 skeins). double strand equals worsted weight if you want a warmer sweater, and to use up more yarn. baby and toddler sweaters that will get used because they are machine washable. lately i have been using up leftovers making wingspan shawls for everyone. (find it on ravelry)
Oh no, this is one of 8 30-gallon storage bins of yarn. It's the one that's entirely sock yarn because I have a particular weakness for buying it with no project in mind. This is only an eighth of the entire stash, and notable because I did a project several years ago with the goal to reduce my overall sock yarn nonsense (if you click the sockpocalypse tag!).
