For Queen Melaina,

I'm such a hopeless romantic, and so I gotta ask... how did Cadeyrn propose to you?

"Oh! I'm glad you're interested in hearing the story! The day he proposed . . ." She smiles and sighs dreamily.

"It was springtime. The flowers were all in bloom. He took me out to a little clearing in the forest for a picnic. It started out like all our past dates did. We talked, we joked around, we were happy just to be together. And like always, I never wanted to leave and go back home.

"When we finished all the food and we were going on a walk together through the trees. My hand in his . . . And then suddenly he let go. I looked back and saw this serious look on his face. I asked him what was wrong. And that's when he got down on one knee.

"He told me I was the most important person in his life. That he loved me more than he'd ever loved anyone. He wanted me by his side, as his princess, and maybe someday as his queen. I barely let him finish before I leaped into his arms and said yes! I'd longed for this day for so long . . ." Her smile suddenly slips away.

"But that was a long time ago . . ."
