Okay, possible solution to my plight:

I ship Infinisper and then have them adopt Eclipse.

(Cause as much Eclipser is so good and genius, Eclipse honestly seems like a little kid to me and Whisper seems a lot older than him. Whisper and Infinite are both like late-teens to early-adults to me.)
