sorry this is kind of off topic from the post itself but i noticed that you headcanon that humanstuck sollux's family speaks portuguese? :) where do you headcanon him being from? i noticed you said he was biracial and that's awesome especially since i don't see a lot of brazilian humanstuck headcanons (or if he's from another portuguese speaking country that's cool too, sorry i just saw portuguese and i got excited lol)

okay cool lets talk about my sollux headcanon

sollux is definitely brazillian and grew up in brazil with his uncles who were, ironically, identical twins and mituna since psiioniic left when they were young to join some religious protests and sollux never knew who his mother was or really cared about her

he was never too good with words and grew up only being prompted to speak when he was given the opportunity to insult someone because that was really the only time he ever WANTED to say anything so he never went to daycare or anything like that because he would always swear at the workers which gave him a lot of opportunities to start working with computers at a very early age and it didn’t take really long for anyone to realize he was very, very good with them and his uncles didn’t fully understand sollux or anything about him but they were SO PROUD of his abilities that they wanted to tell everyone so they kept inviting people over to come see what he’s doing and telling them to come and bring their computer and sollux can make it run faster and that didn’t exactly help his cognative abilities because his “lash outs” only became more frequent and his bpd got worse because he was unintentionally being denied his privacy so he grew up a really, really bitter, snarky teenager who mostly communicated through telling people to go fuck themselves but everyone was used to it because it was obvious his intentions weren’t negative and he was a nice guy he just talked like that

anyway, sollux went to public school and took the sat really early on (maybe in 8th grade) and scored at 2200 and in solluxs school any student who scores a certain score on their exams is given the opportunity to study at this advanced ivy preparatory boarding school in america and at first sollux is like “why the hell would i give a flying fuck about the river of reckless gun use and shitty white people food that americans drown in daily” but then when someone explains that joining this school means he’ll get opportunities to learn computer science more extensively AND also grants to begin the software projects he’s wanted to do and also his own room he decided to give it a shot and he was super qualified so he immediately got in and after a bunch of goodbyes he made his way to the rich kid private school where he met eridan, feferi, and the rest of the rich kids (highbloods) and he met the others because they went to a regular school nearby

also it's probably significant for me to mention that kanaya, aradia, and equius definitely didn't grow up in america either. equius was a rich racist european asshole and i haven't fully worked out kanaya and aradias plot fully but aradia and sollux were internet friends who ended up nearby.

so i felt like you would appreciate this story. sometimes i save art from my art blog to my school ipad so i have drawing references for my oc's on hand and we were doing a group project where one person had to hook their ipad up to the projector and explain this photo which happened to be mine, so like at the end of the project i accidentally touched something and long story short i put a photo of my fantroll flipping someone off up on the projector in front of my entire health class.

UAB Cadaver Incident

Another interesting event has transpired which smears social networking and everything it stands for. It can be argued that this generation has an obsession with keeping an online chronology. We post details of the most intimate parts of our lives. With a new network cutting it's teeth every time we turn around, the circles get bigger. With bigger circles, there is more of a responsibility on the part of the user. So what happens when said responsibility is met with brash immaturity? You're probably questioning just where this train is going, so I'll cut right to it. 

There's news out of Birmingham that a high school student has posted a rather interesting "selfie" to the popular Instagram network. What makes this picture worth so much attention? She included a cadaver from the lab in her shot. I don't know if it was a "dumb teenager" moment, or maybe a schoolyard dare. Either way, University of Alabama at Birmingham and the high school senior are in deep trouble. 

A few people have contacted me about this, thus why I'm posting my opinion. As someone who works in death care, I am utterly disgusted. That is such a blatant showing of disrespect for the dead. Even if the body is "just a shell", that body used to be someone's loved one. Think about it, people. Would you really want a photo of your dead mother and some dumb teenager going viral in a matter of minutes? I didn't think so. 

Another point people are trying to make is that this is a victimless crime. Give me a break! Explain that to the family who's loved one's deceased state has been immortalized on the worldwide web. It is just all-around disgusting. I wouldn't be surprised of UAB's donor program goes down the tubes. No one wants to send them donors under these pretenses. Donor bodies deserve just as much respect as those taken into a funeral home. It is as simple as that. 

Disagree? Well, then I guess we're on different sides of this fence.
