Sniffing the tears of Krylon and old steel memories. Word is Cadillac Ranch originated in 1974 on a wheat field in the Texas Panhandle and dreamt up by eccentric millionaire and prankster Stanley Marsh 3. He enlisted the help of three artists from Northern California known as the Ant Farm to create an art installation of 10 vintage Cadillacs buried face first into the ground in a 60 degree angle like the Great Pyramids of Giza. After moving a couple miles West to a cow pasture in 1997 to accommodate Amarillo’s growth the place continues to be a spray paint enthusiasts dream and an almost ritual site for travelers from across the world. Cadillac Ranch had been featured in Pixar’s Cars movie and music videos.
