Big K.R.I.T. - It’s Better This Way MIXTAPE REVIEW
I’ve been listening Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. for a while now. It’s Better This Way serves as K.R.I.T.’s 12th mixtape and his releases after his Cadillactica album (2014). This mixtape shies away from the sound of Cadillactica and goes back to that southern sound of Big K.R.I.T.’s other mixtapes and his first album, Live From The Underground. However, In The Darkness and Keep It Boomin reflect some of the Cadillactica sound. I’ve always liked the fluidness of Big K.R.I.T.’s flow and it’s great to hear it once again on this mixtape. The first song, King Part 4 shows Big K.R.I.T.’s reflective lyricism. I like the bouncy production on the old southern style hip hop production on 86, his flow is crazy on this song. Big K.R.I.T. raps with an exuberant attitude on Piece On Chain. I like Big K.R.I.T.’s producing skills, but I’ve never enjoyed the sound of the cowbell when it’s continuously played on an instrumental. the cowbell is heard on many southern hip hop beats. I’ve always enjoyed the way Big K.R.I.T. has rhymed his words, but I feel that his rhyming skills aren’t as prominent on this mixtape as they were on his previous projects. I also like the sound Big K.R.I.T.’s southern accent sounds when he raps, it adds more character to his sound. Honestly, I like Big K.R.I.T. and this mixtape, but I feel that a lot more could be done finer. I’m split.
Fav Tracks: 86, Piece On Chain, Keep It Boomin, It’s Better This Way

Let's be perfect.
Big K.R.I.T is so underrated.
