The Farm to Table Dinner last night at @countyrailfarm was a lovely experience - despite Mother Nature adding an unexpected light, sound, and water show. . The menu was catered by one of our favorite Missoula restaurants, Caffe Dolce. It featured vegetables, fruits, meats and cheeses from organic and locally sourced farms in the area . The beautiful flowers were grown at County Rail Farm. . The first course was a delightful bleu cheese made from sheep's milk with Dixon melon and a mind blowingly good fig and raspberry jam. Served with a fresh arugula salad. . Second course was a Caprese salad with the most ah-mazing heirloom tomatoes, feta cheese, fresh basil, camelina oil, Saba and black salt. (I could have eaten this all night long.) There was also shishito peppers course but as peppers and I have a difficult relationship I avoided them. . Then came lettuce wraps with pork belly, cucumbers, carrots and kimchi. . Then I got so caught up in enjoying the company and the meal I forgot to take any more photos! There were meat and vegetable kabobs that were delicious followed by a Flathead Cherry tart with Caffe Dolce's famous gelato - vanilla tonight. A beautiful combination to end a lovely evening. (I adore their gelato and spent most of last summer trying to approximate their strawberry to no avail.) . We were also given a truncated Farm tour as it was pouring.
