the feeling of not doing things right. the feeling of disappointing someone no matter what he does. the feeling that someone is going to end up hurt whenever he makes a risky decision. the feeling of being alone.

saihara has always doubted himself from the very beginning, hes always either overthinking about what could go wrong or acts too quickly and eventually something does go wrong. even when he was in such a depressed state before entering high school he never wishes to inflict harm on others, and making a choice that has a chance of someone getting hurt stresses him out. he doesnt trust himself and views himself as someone unworthy enough to hold the “Ultimate Detective” title because the choice he made ending up hurting someone, the culprit of the first case he solved. while he knows that this was for the greater good he often regrets his decision, not only because of the anger and despair that was in the culprit’s eyes but because he wasn’t given the chance to help him.

he doesnt trust himself to always make the right decisions, he always tries to make the choice when everyone can be happy in the end. as much as he wants to break out of this self depreciating bubble theres always an intrusive thought that pulls him right back in. he knows hes capable of doing something great, he knows that he holds some form of talent, but instincts and thoughts tell him otherwise and they refuse to let him step forward and believe in himself. its been such a constant thing that hes grown used to it to the point he thinks he cant get help nor does he deserve the help
