Naturally, King had been curious when Nagase had mentioned he’d received a tape in the mail that morning. It was peculiar, after all--nobody ever just gets a video tape in the mailbox. But the mobster had just decided to push that thought to the back of his head, simply allowing Nagase to play it. King was sure he was just being irrational, after all.
Up until it actually started playing. When it only started with a pitch black screen with only a bit of static noise, King took a deep breath to calm himself down.
“Um... Maybe it’s, like, a horror movie?” he tells Nagase--although he doesn’t sound too sure of that.
And as he, too, recognizes Margie’s meow from anywhere, King visibly tenses up, somewhat beginning to squeeze Nagase closer to him for comfort. It takes King a long moment to finally recognize the sleeping Nagase in the video, but when he does, he has to take yet another deep breath.
He has to remain as calm as he can--for Nagase’s sake, if anything else. “Ehh... m- maybe we should... stop watchin’ this.” He sighs, holding onto the other man’s arm. “I’ll figure out who... d- did this... okay? An’ you c’n bet that fucker ‘ll be dead in no time.”
