Ooooh… I’m still sorting out Major bits to her past, but probably something relevant to her mentor? Something harshly said? A rash action?

4. Are they formally trained or have they gone through a more organic learning experience for their skillset?

Most definitely formally trained! In my mind, Runeseekers are from this rather unique adventurer’s guild of Highly-Trained-in-Arcana warriors, looking for ancient and lost lore in the most dangerous places.

This in mind, you have to train to become an Official Runeseeker, and Katiah was adopted and mentored under one of the best Runeseekers on the continent. 

10. What’s their best stat? 

Intelligence, with an 18. It’s a necessary trait to understand the many and often old as fuck languages runic items and symbols are in.

The runners-up are Dexterity and Strength, which both sit at 16.

27. They’re at a tavern. They bump into a big burly angry drunk with a combative attitude. What happens?

A snarky comment, a thrown mug, a tavern brawl, y’know, business as usual in high fantasy taverns.

28. What do they do between quests?

She studies the runes she has discovered, translates and identifies any runes and items she’s found on previous quests. Occasionally does some blacksmithing or leatherworking if she needs a break from wracking her brain over pages and runic carvings. Talks to her sentient halberd too.

(…yes, you read that last bit right, Katiah is a Soulsmith and this makes her favorite weapon sentient if she so chooses to inscribe it with an Awakening Rune. She only sort of regrets this choice because her halberd is a pun-loving asshole that only she can hear.)
