Now that Pride month is here I need to get something off my chest
I hate bottom Kung Lao. With all my soul
Everywhere I go, I see it. "It's brat taming" shut up? Like Kung Lao doesn't get humbled far too many times already in the canon 🙄 (looking at you, MK11 cast who are sooo incredibly mean to him for no reason). How would you feel, if you were looked down upon almost your entire life, everyone viewing you as just a "second place", only for this to EXTEND in bed? Idk about you, I would've flipped.
(Before you jump me, bottoming doesn't actually make you lesser, but the act itself is unfortunately too jeopardized nowadays. Ex: person A putting person B "in their place" by domming them)
And it's crazy 'cause in the fujoshi terms, I'm a snake (someone who's fav is always a bottom). Kung Lao just seems like the only exception, probably because I feel so bad for this guy that he gets humbled in every way possible that I just want him to feel control at least in relations with his partner (and not in a needy pathetic way, God I get icked by service top Lao—let my man be a full-on dom goddammit!!)
Perhaps this is one of the few reasons why MK2021 movie Lao is the goat in my book, I rarely saw fanworks of him being the receiver, and it's such a breath of fresh air for me. And if he does, it’s with characters that I can see him getting under (Kano for example; in no universe is this hunk taking it up the ass)
Despite everything I said, there are some instances in which I think Kung Lao works best as a sub. Like... Railao? Raiden is the bottom, 'cause he's just a sweet guy who doesn't necessarily like control. Goro/Kung Lao (idk what this ship is called)? Yeah no, Lao's getting backshots.

Have you guys seen that daily CageLao account on twitter? The ship is cute and all and I love the art but I can't help but view this ship as 2 bottoms. You know that one meme where one guy is waiting on all fours and is thinking "what's taking this guy so long ??" And he looks behind him and sees that the other guy is also waiting on all fours because they're both bottoms. That's what I think they are
