Red Handed (Bearded Iris)

There is absolutely nothing worse that being caught red handed. Whether it’s trying to sneak a cookie and getting caught by your mom, trying to steal a pack of gum from a convenient store and getting called out by the clerk, or jerking off to cakefarts and getting spotted by your dog, getting caught red handed is never a good thing. Actually, that was true until today now that Bearded Iris has created this brew. I don’t know how it’s possible but these beers just keep getting better and better and this beer was damn near perfect and I couldn’t get enough of it. If you were to tell me that Bearded Iris was going to start experimenting with packaging quarter kegs of this for mass distribution I’d probably never not have this on tap because it’s that fucking good. A delicious mix of mango and grapefruit start things off with a massive mountain of bitterness before some pine and resin mix in towards the middle with an almost orange marmalade flavor before ending with an explosion of flavor from this oniony pine bomb with a mix of mild sweetness and even more of that powerful bitterness. This is everything I look for in a DIPA and Bearded Iris has quickly become one of my favorite breweries I’ve tasted and if it wasn’t for the fact that I don’t own a huge belt buckle, like wearing cowboy boots, or enjoy Honky Tonks I’d probably plan a trip out immediately but I do love music so I guess I’ll stick Nashville in the “maybe” list of places to visit. If you are looking for a downright incredible DIPA and you are a pro drinker make sure you pick this up and don’t make any kind of bullshit excuses why you can’t because this will punish the hell out of your taste buds then slowly caress them in cotton soft flavor that will have you begging for more. As for those of you still seeking membership to the Bastard Drinking Crew, start elsewhere because this is almost definitely going to be a bit too much for your first Imperial IPA and I don’t want it to scare you away but make sure you keep it in mind because you don’t want to miss out on this.
