Valentine’s Day with PRETTYMUCH
Austin is a whole softie who really seems like he'd much rather do something laid back and engaging so that the two of you could make the most of the day and simply enjoy each others' presence. Exchanging chocolate and cheap cards really doesn't seem like it would float his boat, y'know.
Austin and you shared the type of relationship that was filled with skinship and nights in, so it’s your Valentine's day wouldn't differ too far from the norm. You had come over the evening before and had dozed off beside your longtime boyfriend like you so often did, one of his shirts adorning your frame. The boys would have left early that morning, leaving the two of you to do as you pleased with the house as they set about running errands and completing the last of their pre-date tasks before they were to meet their partners. This time would be used to catch up on some much-needed sleep and it wouldn't be until you felt the familiar tickle of featherlight kisses being peppered across your face that'd you'd be roused from your slumber. The oh-so-endearing sight of a messy-haired, half-asleep Austin smiling down at you would make an equally bright smile form on your own lips as you cupped his face and pulled him in for a proper kiss.
"G'morning, beautiful," he'd murmur when you finally parted.
Brushing a stray strand of hair out of his eyes, you leaned forward and pressed another tender kiss to his lips. "Good morning."
Rolling out of bed, you traipse into the kitchen to make breakfast, Austin a few paces behind. His arms would wrap themselves gingerly around your waist as you stood at the stove, his chin coming to rest on your shoulder so that he could watch. Every so often he'd turn his head and press tender kisses to whatever exposed skin he could reach, hands dancing over your sides before they dipped underneath the hem of your shirt. Long fingers would trace delicate patterns onto your skin, making a shiver roll down your spine. With every lingering touch and gentle kiss, sweet nothing’s tumbled past his lips and pranced through the air. Every syllable curled and twisted around your being until the corners of your lips were drawing upward in a similar manner. You turned in his arms, winding your own around his neck as your eyes wandering about his face; you took in every little detail, heart swelling as you simply took a moment to appreciate the softness of his features, the gentle curve of his lips and the soft flush that seemed permanently etched onto his cheeks. He truly was ethereal and you found it hard to not lose yourself in his eyes. Large hands moved to gingerly cup your face, Austin’s thumbs brushing gently over your cheekbones. “You own my heart,” he mused, leaning forward so that his nose brushed lightly against your own.
“I think I can say the same,” you answered, pressing your frame closer to his larger one.
“I don’t think you know just how much I adore you,” Austin started, his arm,s wrapping themselves around your waist once more. He began to sway gently, a soft sigh pushing past his lips. “You’re the light of my life and just hearing your voice brightens up my day more than you know. I have no idea how I ended up with such an amazing person but I am so, so glad that I did.”
Resting your head on his shoulder, you nuzzled into the crook of his neck, warm breath tickling his skin as it fanned out over the pallid flesh. “I’ve never met anyone as gentle and loving as you, Austin. I really can’t see myself without you by my side.”
The two of you would remain like this for a few moments more before you pulled away to return to your cooking. The remainder of the morning would be filled with nothing more than sweet kisses and the sharing of “I love you’s” as you cooked, getting sidetracked every so often as you playfully dabbed the whipped-cream from your pancakes on the tips of each other’s noses.
Brandon seems like the type that sympathizes with the "I don't dig the commercialism of national holidays" sentiment but would undoubtedly go about it in a way that differs from everyone else. He'd be the kind of guy that uses his passion and talents to create a unique and truly heartfelt gift for his significant other.
In all honesty, you hadn't been expecting to receive much on Valentine's day. You and Brandon often hunkered down in the living room and spent the entirety of the evening binge-watching your favorite films and snacking on whatever you could get your hands on and you had just naturally assumed that things today would follow that same pattern. It was nice to just sit back and relax with someone you cared so deeply for, to relish in the feeling of his arm wrapped around your waist and the warmth that radiated from his body as you snuggled closer and, if you were being completely honest, you had really been looking forward to doing as much. Given that neither of you had planned to do anything else, it came as a total surprise when Brandon messaged you early that afternoon and said he had a surprise for you. Despite your confusion, you were quick to respond and let him know that you'd be over shortly. After slipping on your shoes and grabbing your keys, you set out.
It took no more than twenty minutes for you to arrive at the group home. Bounding eagerly up the steps, you moved to knock, but before your fist could even come in contact with the door, a rather excited Brandon was flinging it open and pulling you inside. His hands fell to your waist, the tips of his fingers biting gently into your hips as he leaned down and sealed his lips to your own in a sweet kiss. You melted into it, hands moving to gently cup his face as your eyes fluttered shut. Several moments passed before he pulled away, a bright smile lighting up his features. "C'mon, I want to show you your surprise."
"Alright," you answered, hands falling away from his face in favor of taking one of his own. He led you off and toward the room in which his piano was housed. Sitting himself down on the bench, he pat the space beside him. You obeyed without a moment's hesitation, watching as he shifted forward a bit and placed his hands over the keys. It wasn't long before he began to play, the downright bewitching melody the keys produced making goosebumps rise on your flesh. His voice rang out alongside it, each syllable that danced off the tip of his tongue dipping and curling about in a way that was nothing less than absolutely mesmerizing. You fell silent, eyes beginning to water some as he listened to him recite the piece. By the time he was finished, the tears that had welled up in your eyes had spilled over onto your cheeks and were now flowing freely. Sniffling softly, you reached up to wipe them away with the sleeve of your sweatshirt. He was gingerly taking hold of your face before you had the opportunity to do so, brushing your tears away with the pads of his thumbs. “Brandon, I-I don’t know what to say. That was beautiful.”
“I wanted to do something special for you this year,” he responded, words thick and sweet like honey. The smile that accompanied them was just as endearing and you felt your heart jump at the sight.
Cupping his face, you pulled him in for yet another kiss, this one softer and more lingering than the last. He was quick to respond, the rest of the world seemingly falling away as you basked in the proximity of your lover and the feeling of soft lips pressed against your own. When you pulled away you let your forehead come to rest against his own. “I love you.”
I get some super old school date vibes from this boy. He'd be the type who would prefer to show his love and appreciation for you in a manner that differs from the stereotypical way that glorifies commercialism.
Valentine's day with Edwin had always been interesting, to say the very least. You had never been exceptionally fond of the holiday given how commercialized it had become in recent decades and the stigmas that seemed to be attached to it. Your boyfriend, on the other hand, quite enjoyed the whole ordeal, but not in the way you would expect. He was the type of individual who showed his fondness through action. The gifts you received from him were often labors of love that stemmed from the creative outlets of his mind opposed to the money that sat within his wallet; they were sweet and endearing and had completely changed the way you viewed Valentine's day. In fact, you now found yourself looking forward to the celebration so that you could spend some quality time with the man you loved and exchange truly heartfelt gifts. This year was no exception, and you found that as the day drew to a close and you began to get ready for an evening in with Edwin that your excitement was beginning to mount and the smile that had taken up residence on your lips sometime earlier had yet to leave. You left your home at about eight that evening and set about making your way to his, heart skipping a beat when you finally bounded up the steps and knocked on the front door. It swung open mere moments later and you were greeted by that sweet smile you had come to love so long ago. Pleasantries were exchanged and you were pulled into a warm hug before you were slipping inside, Edwin closing the door behind you. "You can head out back, everything's already set up." You nodded, feet carrying you off toward the backyard.
The moment you stepped outside you felt warmth spread throughout your chest, butterflies running rampant throughout your stomach. A small table had been set up on the patio, a small floral centerpiece adorning its surface. Candles had been lit to help with the atmosphere and a bottle sparkling cider was set in a bucket of ice off to the side. Two places had been set, your favorite meal patiently waiting on the table's surface. "Eddie, this is beautiful," you murmured, voice barely above a breathy whisper. He smiled brightly, guiding you over to the table.
"I'm glad you like it. I wanted to do something special for you this year."
"Everything you do is special. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter man," you answered, taking a seat. He pushed in your chair before taking the one across from you. Before dinner could officially commence, you reached into the pocket of your jacket and withdrew a small, black box. You handed the package to Edwin, teeth sinking into your bottom lip as you watched him open it; he withdrew a small, circular locket. It was clear to see that it had been handcrafted, and on its smooth surface you had carefully etched both your initials and his own. An ecstatic grin split his lips as he opened the necklace and caught sight of the photo housed within it. It was of you, the sandy shores of the beach visible in the background. The sun radiated off of the water that had collected on your skin, giving you a gentle glow, and your hair fanned about your face in a way that did nothing more than accentuate your features. You were smiling, eyes forming small crescents as you did so; it perfectly captured the joy you felt in that moment, and he could say without hesitation that it was his favorite picture of you. Your fingers dipped underneath the neck of your shirt, producing a matching locket moments later when you pulled them back out. The photo resided within your own was of him, taken on the same day. An equally bright smile painted his lips, damp hair clinging to his forehead. “I love this,” he chirped happily.
“I’m glad. Happy Valentine’s day, Eddie.”
Leaning forward, he pressed a loving kiss to your lips. “Happy Valentine’s day, princess.”
Nick would more than likely want to enjoy a Valentine's day that's very similar to that of Austin and Caleb: something that's fun and allows him to spend a sizeable amount of time with you while also being relaxed, free of the day to day stressors that bore down on your mental and physical being.
It went without saying that you were exceptionally surprised to see Nick standing on your front step early that afternoon, several plastic bags trapped within his grasp. The two of you had planned to meet much later in the evening but it was clear to see that he was far too excited to wait until nightfall to see you. He chuckled upon noticing the bewildered expression that had taken up residence on your face, shaking his head a bit before he stepped past you and into your home. Stopping to press a quick kiss to your lips, he toed off his shoes before he strode into the kitchen and began to put away the food that he had brought along. You closed the door and followed after him, stooping down to collect some of what was in the bags so that you could help put them where they belonged. Upon further inspection, you found that a majority of what Nick had brought with him was various types of baking products, presumably so that the two of you could create and feast on frosting covered confections later in the evening. You couldn't help but giggle softly when you took note of the ecstatic smile that had taken up residence on his face. "So this is what you had in mind when you said you wanted to hang out, huh?"
"What can I say? Is there anything better than making sweets with my sweet?"
The cheesiness of what he had said had him laughing once more and left you to playfully roll your eyes.
"You're a dork. I can't say I disagree, though," you answered as you put away the last of the baking necessities. After things had been dealt with and the plastic bags that housed the groceries had been done away with, Nick was gathering you up in his arms and carting you off to the living room so that you could simply lounge around for a while and relax. He had turned the television on after the two of you were seated but it offered nothing more than background noise as the two of you fell into an easy conversation; you took hold of his hand, absentmindedly playing with his fingers as you listened to him speak about how his day had gone. The favor was returned shortly thereafter and when the pleasantries were finally done with the two of you began to talk idly about this and that. It was easy to lose yourself to the moment and just listen to the almost musical manner in which he spoke; it was surprisingly rhythmic and the silky lull that clung to every single modicum of his sentences had you clinging to his tales. Before you knew it nearly an hour and a half had passed and Nick was bolting upright, feet carrying him off into the kitchen as he spat something about wanting to bake something before it got too late to do so. You nodded quickly in agreement and followed excitedly after your boyfriend.
When you stepped into the kitchen he was dutifully gathering the necessary bowls and utensils. After a brief discussion regarding what you should bake first - during which the two of you settled on red velvet cookies with cheese cream frosting - you set about gathering the proper ingredients. As you set about measuring and sifting ingredients, Nick put on some music, humming along to the symphonic melody that underlaid the track. You sang softly to your self as you began to combine the wet and dry ingredients and whisk them together. Nick carefully took the bowl and whisk out out your hand, beginning to mix everything himself so that you could turn your attention to other issues that required it. When the batter was an even consistency he carefully spooned some on to the cookie sheet that had been set to the side. You had preheated the oven sometime earlier and by the time he was finished placing the maroon colored dough on the baking sheet, it was warm enough for him to place them in the stove and set a timer. The cleaning process was exceptionally quick and soon enough the two of you were simply standing about, waiting for the timer to go off.
Stepping closer, Nick took hold of your hand, spinning you gracefully before he pulled your frame closer to his own. "It's been a while since we last danced," he started, free hand moving to gingerly take hold of your hip. Your unoccupied hand traveled toward his left shoulder.
"It really has been. This is nice."
The two of you moved fluidly about the room, bodies winding and twisting about one another like shadows that flitted delicately about the dominant figures that adorned the locale. Your movements slowed as the song changed and something more moderate and unhurried began to play. Nick's hands fell away from where they had been positioned, his arms choosing instead to snake themselves around your waist. Another toothy smile took form as you wrapped your own around his neck. He began to sway, body moving in time with the beat of the music that played in the background; your own followed suit, taking lead from that of your lover. As the seconds ticked by you found yourself pressing closer, arms moving once more to curl around his torso as you rested your head on his chest. Your eyes fell shut, the tune that rang out in the open air falling away as you focused on the steady thrum of Nick's heart. His own eyes fluttered shut as he pulled you closer still, chin resting on the top of your head as he let himself succumb to the warmth that washed over his body and the delightful smell of sugary wafers.
Probably the most minimalistic of the boys. That isn't to say that he'd be indolent or shiftless, but, knowing you guy's schedules, he'd want to do something that would capitalize on this little bit of free time and allow the two of you to unwind and enjoy the evening. Everything would be very laid back and easy-flowing and make it so that the two of you were able to just relax and appreciate one another's being.
The entirety of your morning had been rather uneventful, consisting primarily of you doing chores and running small errands so that you wouldn't have to do so later in the week. You and Zion had planned to meet up later in the evening to celebrate together but he had yet to tell what all the night would entail. Upon your asking, he had simply stated that "it'll be fun," and made note that you didn't have to bring anything to the house other than "your cute self and something warm to bundle up in." What exactly you would need it for was beyond you but you still made sure to toss a heavy blanket in the backseat of your car. It wasn't until dusk was beginning to fall, blanketing everything in pallid shades of rose, that you heard from Caleb. The moment you answered the phone he was excitedly telling you that he had finally finished setting everything up - though he successfully managed to avoid telling you what this 'everything' was - and that you needed to come over. If you were being completely honest, you couldn't remember ever hearing your boyfriend sound this enthusiastic about something. Giggling, you said your goodbyes and set about grabbing your jacket and keys before you left the house.
It didn't take very long for you to arrive, blanket in hand as you skipped up the front steps. When you knocked on the door, Nick answered, explaining that your boyfriend was in the back as he stepped aside so that you could enter. Thanking him, you quickly made tour way into the backyard. A bright smile broke out over your lips as you quietly slipped out the door; a small bonfire had been set up, a couple of chairs having been positioned a few feet away so that whoever took them could feel the warmth that radiated from the pit as flames licked at the open air. A small cooler sat nearby, presumably filled with various snacks and drinks. Caleb had taken up residence in one of the seats and was tossing small logs into the pit to help build up the fire he had started. Setting down the blanket and toeing off your shoes to minimize the amount of noise you made, you crept across the yard, stopping just short of his chair. Your hands came to cover his eyes, making him jump in surprise before a delighted chuckle tumbled past his lips. Uncovering his eyes when he tilted his head back to look at you, you leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to his lips. "You got here fast," he hummed, watching as you moved to take the seat beside him.
“I missed you. It’s not every day that we get to do stuff like this,” you answered simply. He chuckled, shaking his head some.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you both turned your gazes toward the quickly darkening sky, watching as the last of the sun disappeared behind the horizon and the delicate pinks and oranges that blanketed the heaven’s turned into inky shades of black and navy. The crackle of the fire was soon accompanied by the soft sound of crickets singing and the occasional owl in the distance. With nightfall came a cool breeze, and before long both you and Caleb were folding your chairs and setting them aside in favor of sitting on the grass near the fire. You were curled into your lovers' side, head resting on his shoulder and his arm curled around your waist. The blanket that you had brought along had been draped across both of your shoulders, maximizing the amount of heat you received. You'd both lay back after a while, shifting your gaze away from the fire in favor of the stars that hung overhead. Shifting so that your head was now resting on his chest, you began to pick out constellations, pointing at the various stars that were encompassed within them and reciting all that you could remember about their stories. Caleb listened intently, his body relaxing as the thrum of his mind quieted and he focused on the melodic sound of your voice. The way your eyes lit up and the excitement you exhibited whenever you spoke about the things that you were interested in was absolutely endearing and Caleb felt as if he could listen to you for hours. When you paused he leaned over, pressed a quick but tender kiss to your cheek. You turned your head to that the Peck landed on your lips, a cheeky smile taking form when you pulled back. "I love you, Y/N," he chuckled.
"I love you too, Caleb, more than anything."
