Brooklyn artist Katie Yamasaki comes from a large family that includes many artists and teachers so it comes as little surprise that she works primarily as a muralist, children's book author / illustrator, and teaching artist. She says her mural work has enabled her to travel widely using her art as a vehicle for dialogue among diverse communities. At age 13 Caleb Neelon was inspired by a visit to the Berlin Wall and a few short years later was immersed in the global graffiti scene, working under the name SONIK. Today, in addition to smoothly transitioning between murals and graffiti he has also authored or collaborated on more than two dozen book. The two have collaborated on a number of murals together and in 2016, for the Welling Court Mural Project in Queens, used this wall to respond to the drinking water crisis in Flint, Michigan. @wellingcourtmuralproject @katieyamasaki @calebneelonart
