Hi! I just wanted to let you know I loved the newest chapter of 'Stillness of hours'!! I legit screeched when I saw there was an update and my housemate came to ask me what was wrong because of the noise I was making XD But yeah, I absolutely love your writing and this story and the feels I have for this are unreal. Anyway, thank you for writing this, and being awesome :D I'm sorry depression has been kicking your butt, but I hope things are looking up, and please don't feel hurried in writing!

Also, do you think you are going to upload everything to Archive of our own as well? I don’t know if that’s a lot of work or something, so plz don’t feel pressured, I’m just curious. I’m pretty sure I found all there is to read of SoH on dreamwidth and I saved the links, but I do not understand how Dreamwidth works at all haha xD. I can’t find anything like an overview of all the things you wrote there or something like that, or can you only see that when you have an account or it’s linked?

And you’re in luck– I’ve been uploading the fic to AO3 whenever I build up a big enough buffer, and just now I published chapter 4 of Stillness of Hours (covering Karkat’s first foray out of his hospital room up to John’s visit). Dedication

Danny was standing front and center at the statue dedication ceremony. He had his phone out, and had already snapped dozens of pictures to go in the ‘Team Phantom’ scrapbook. A few were of the sheet-covered statue, but most were of his red-faced friends.

“-and so we dedicate this statue to the allies of our ghostly... hero, in... appreciation for all they have done-”

Nobody was really listening to Mayor Masters’s stilted voice as he struggled through the speech. Tucker pulled his hoodie down further over his face. Sam was staring pointedly out into space. Valerie was nearby, her fingers clenched into fists, furious at being bundled into the ‘allies’ label. They wouldn’t have come, if it hadn’t been a whole-school trip.

When the sheet was finally pulled back, revealing the statue, Danny took a picture of his friends’ first reaction before turning to look himself. “Well, that’s impressive,” Danny finally spit out. The statue was a monstrosity of vaguely-human shapes striking heroic poses. Then he grinned and elbowed Tucker. “And all for you-”

“I’ll pay you to blow it up,” Tucker muttered.

“Whatever he pays you, I’ll double it,” Sam added darkly.

Danny laughed. “I’ll think about it.”

FUN FACT: When I checked your tumblr this morning to see if the update was there I read the other person's fun fact about breaking down over the 'I'll come and say goodbye' line and I thought it was about a line in the new update so I went to read the new chapter thinking 'WHAATT?? WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN??!' and then after the chapter (I loved the update btw, as usual dghfghrfg) I realised my mistake, which was kinda dumb to begin with because (pt 1)

I reread the entirety of PoT last Tuesday in one go so I should have recognized the line immediately (also because this line is a masterfully crafted gut punch) because I needed a pick me up after election results, and I really don’t know why I thought this would constitute as a ‘pick me up’ because PoT is REALLY SAD AND HEARTWRENCHING AND A BUNCH OF OTHER PAINFUL EMOTIONS so I guess I just like kicking myself when I’m already down. (It was worth it) (pt 2)

I also wanted to say that after I finished reading PoT (and crying about it), I just kinda had this thought that although PoT is an amazing story and the writing is fantastic, SoaD is somehow just EVEN BETTER. I feel like you have improved a lot over the years, (I’m not really good at pointing out exactly how, but it’s definitely there) and I’m glad you’ve been sharing your talent with us. I can’t wait to read your original work too! (also this ask really got out of hand and I'm sorry xD) pt 3

I've been kind of like, staring at this ask and trying to figure out how to answer it - gosh, it makes me happy to hear when people go back and reread the thing, holy crap. I hope it proved a good distraction, if not exactly a pick-me-up, hehe.

Here's hoping that I keep improving, that I can make my own characters and worlds just as dear to my readers as the ones populating SoaD have been to me. Thanks for this fun fact! It made me smile. :)

It’s so hard to get out of the eating shitty cycle, I feel ya. And dumping more coffee in your system can only get you so far, but yeah, lets hope for the best haha! (my breakfast is usually a pot of strong tea TT.TT)

its more or less because my family is on a totally different schedule than me so they don’t bug me about whether or not i’ve eaten lmao. the only reason why i eat better at school is because my friends and i are generally on similar schedules and they’re like hey.........eat something u dumbass.......

basically i either have no appetite or im just Too Damn Lazy to make food
