"I saw Sarah’s file, I know why she’s here. Sarah and Helena are here because they can have children and I can’t. Coady wanted me because she thought I was special, she always said I was and now listen to her, she doesn’t say I’m special anymore. Haven’t you noticed that? I’m not her special little girl anymore.” Charlotte growled as tears started spilling down her reddened cheeks. Her hands curled up into angry fists as she took a step towards Rudy.

“The only reason why she has me is because she thought I was fucking special. She thought I could get pregnant and all she’s wanted is for me to get fucked by one of you or some guy on base in hopes that I could make stupid fucking clone babies for her sick experiments!” Her screams echoed against the walls of her room and she turned to swipe a hand across her dresser, pill bottles clattering to the floor. Without warning, she picked up the clock she had missed and flung it at the wall. Glass sprayed everywhere and the clock hit the floor. It still didn’t satisfy her, she needed more things to throw.

There wasn’t much going on in Charlotte’s schedule now that it was winter break. She had gotten all of her school work done, her doctors’ appointments had all be gotten over with, and she was sitting at home with her cat with nothing else to do. Knowing her, she’d find something. As she crossed the foyer to get a snack from the kitchen, she heard a noise in the basement. Her black Armani flats squeaked as she turned on the ball of the foot so she could aim her confused frown at the basement staircase. Charlotte’s curiosity lured her forward and she stopped at the base of the basement staircase.

This noise was quieter but nonetheless, it was suspicious and needed thorough investigating. She made her way down the staircase one step at a time, her hand gliding over the railing in case she needed the help. There was a bit of hesitation as she rounded the soft corner leading to the expanse of the basement but she took the step and found what looked like a bad exhibit at the zoo with a man behind the glass.

“Whatever it is you’re doing, you’ve been making a lot of noise. Now who the hell are you and what the fuck are you doing in my basement?”

The three month old baby wiggled in Mark’s arms and he smiled down at her with a big grin on his face which mirrored her own. Before all this, he rarely smiled but now he had his own life. Or at least, an illusion of his own life. Gracie was at DYAD again to have lab work done and he had to stay at the motel to keep watch over little Clara. No one knew the baby existed except for the Clone Club (including Mrs. S and Felix), both Gracie and Mark guarded her with their lives at all time.

He turned away from the door for a moment with Clara in his arms and when the door opened behind him, he assumed it was Gracie. Shifting her around in his arms, he turned back around to face the door and the smile immediately faded from his face. Mark’s face went white and the baby's smile faded a little as she wiggled again, as if sensing that something was amiss. When he tightened his grip on her, she tried to turn her head towards the door to see what was happening.

“What the hell are you doing here, Rudy? How did you find me?”
