The day captured in this photo feels like another lifetime. The space in time before I understood death and my eyes turned green as a cat. There was something so magical about always being surrounded by my siblings, always being able to play in the forest behind my house. How I loved caring for my baby brother even when he was most upset . I remember my mom pointing out how calm I always stayed when caring for crying kids. NowAdayZ the world feels a little more hectic, unstable really, with the way the planet and its caretakers are being neglected. I hear the voices of so many being mocked and drowned. Denied the right to protect what should be most loved🌏. I feel like the planet is crying loudly, creating chaos in the home. I'm so grateful to see a collective, peaceful march for science today. It's harder to stay centered in the mists of an unstable future for our children and future generations. Still I believe that staying calm (with a purpose and action) is a powerful and valid emotion. Although it can come across as less emotional, it's a form of compassion, an act of strong will, not always easy yet undeniably powerful. It takes being grounded to something bigger than individual goals to change the world. Our planet needs us now more then ever. Like an old growth tree is deeply rooted into the earth so must we be. This is the peace that can draw us closer to the heart of the ocean instead of always being at the tip of the wave. In the heart of wherever we go that is where we can center. Heart of the earth, the ocean, in the hearts of ourselves, that is where pure love exists. That pure love has before changed our world and once again can do the same. When feeling distress pull from your center of true calmness.
