What are your opinions on protein/meal replacement drinks like nurri or Fairlife? I think they're a great way to handle a sweet tooth when my body starts to act up for sugar. But I don't want to end up sabotaging myself in my weightloss journey. I don't have insurance right now to go see a dietician, so I'm just looking for advice from blogs like yours. Sometimes researching how to eat and drink more healthy can get pretty overwhelming.

As for my opinion in regards to protein/meal replacements drinks. I say it really does not matter what I think. That is going to be an on you, because it could be something great for you. Just as long as you don't fall for the gimmicks of everything having protein now a days. lol

If drinking your protein makes you feel satiated then keep doing what you are doing, and keep making those changes as you go along with your health journey. If you are looking more towards solids a great substitute could be cottage cheese and greek yogurt. You can do a pineapple cottage cheese combo, or do it with greek yogurt. These two ingredients can be converted to sweet or savory. They can give you 10-25g of protein depending on how much you use and what you combine them with. For a sweet treat I do the "Japanese cheesecake". It is just greek yogurt and coconut cookies, and not the one's that went viral with the biscoff stuff. lol I do 100-110 g of vanilla greek yogurt, add 6 coconut cookies (35g), and refrigerate it for 4 hours(to soften cookies). Though lately I have craved lemon bars, so I substituted the coconut cookies for lemon wafers instead. Which with any recipe you do can be changed with what you want.

I know calorie counting is a pain in the ass to do, but it does help with understanding on what you consume throughout the day. Which my fitness pal is not the only one out there, so try one that works for you. Though I would avoid using ai ones, because those are not accurate enough and it is pretty much a guessing game on it's part.
My one advice to you as someone who is also on a health journey. Is to not be so hard on yourself, because the harder you are on yourself the more likely you will quit. This is a lifestyle change, and there will be alot of ups and downs. All you can do is take it day by day and learn what works and what doesn't
