Bunga widuri, Calotropis gigantea on the side of a road.
I took some seeds, hoping they'll grow in my neighborhood. There were lots of Carpenter bees and I think those are red fire bug nymphs?

Calotropis Flowers.
Left to Right: Calotropis gigantea, Calotropis gigantea, Calotropis procera.
Calotropis is a genus of flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae, first described as a genus in 1810. It is native to southern Asia and North Africa.
They are commonly known as milkweeds because of the latex they produce. Calotropis species are considered common weeds in some parts of the world. The flowers are fragrant and are often used in making floral tassels in some mainland Southeast Asian cultures. Fibers of these plants are called madar or mader. Calotropis species are usually found in abandoned farmland.

AKA Asclepias procera, Apple of Sodom, Dead Sea Apple, roostertree, king's crown, small crownflower, rubber bush, and rubber tree.
Anoher of Pauli's sightings, when she was up in the Thar Desert at the northern end of the country. Native to Northern and Tropical Africa, Western Asia, South Asia and Indochina.
Probably the same plant described by the Roman Jewish historian Josephus, who wrote -
"which fruits have a color as if they were fit to be eaten, but if you pluck them with your hands, they dissolve into smoke and ashes."
The mature fruit does indeed resemble an apple or orange, but if pressed explodes into fluffy windborne seed and a few scraps of rind. The fibres could be collected for textiles, wicks, and matches for matchlock firearms.
Accidentally introduced to other parts of the world, including Australia. It may have come in as camel saddle stuffing here.
Thar Desert, Rajasthan, India.
