Here’s a recap of my grad school education conference

We went to Cuba for a week and learned a lot🇨🇺

The purpose of the trip was for intl education students.

I thought growing up in south Florida it’d be familiar.

However I ended up realizing it was like Cameroon!

The country reminded me so much of my father’s.

I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to visit Cuba

Camagüeyan streets.

Getting lost is not a curse, but the best thing anyone can do who visits Camagüey, a city of clay jars, churches and ancient pirates. Always opposed to the rules, it was founded on a grid that differentiated it from almost all other Spanish colonial cities in Latin America. Its streets are as labyrinthine as those of a Moroccan medina, with Catholic churches, hidden triangular squares, and artistic secrets in every corner.

Perderse no es una maldición, sino lo mejor que puede hacer quien visita Camagüey, ciudad de tinajones de barro, iglesias y antiguos piratas. Siempre opuesta a las normas, se fundó sobre una cuadrícula que la diferenciaba de casi todas las demás ciudades coloniales españolas de Latinoamérica. Sus callejas son tan laberínticas como las de una medina marroquí, con iglesias católicas, plazas triangulares escondidas y secretos artísticos en cada rincón.
