How would Alivia's relationship with Zephyr, Nuffink and Astrid be, if the existed in the same universe?
So, Alivia, for those who don’t know, is a Hiccami fanbaby. There’s some politics involved (particularly pertaining choosing the Sire of children for Bogs) and that Camicazi, the heir to the Bogs, found Hiccup “not bad for a boy” said a lot about who she wanted the Sire to be. These are a lot of my personal headcanons that keep tribes like the Meatheads and Bogs and other heirs like Cami and Thuggory an unspoken involvement with movie!Hiccup. I still happily believe that there’s a childhood history between them all that simply wasn’t touched upon in the movies.
Anyway! Yeah, maybe there’s some situation like Crossing the Line that happens between Hiccup and Astrid in that five-year gap between HTTYD1 and HTTYD2 that results in Alivia. Break up, exploration for both parties, reuiniting afterwards. Bada bing bada boom.
Astrid is, of course, aware of Aliva and that her existance will always tether Hiccup to Cami and the Bogs. Hiccup and Cami will always care for each other but there’s no intention at all to pursue a more concrete relationship beyond deep friendship and a shared child. It’s Astrid’s own knowledge of Bog Culture--more than her trust of Camicazi---that gives her a small peace of mind over the matter.
Still, that doesn’t stop her from being a bit cold towards Alivia, no matter what her rational mind tells her. Alivia is unbothered by this, and with monthly visits to her father ADORES her siblings. Astrid isn’t so petty as to poison her children against their half-sibling, so the relationship is healthy. Especially as Zeph and Fink, as Nordic princess and prince, as far more versed in neighboring cultures than their peers and understand their father’s relationship to the Bogs. In fact, they understand the honor in it.
So Alivia is about 5 years older than Zephyr and she’s SUPER EXCITED to have a SISTER. Like, her enthusiasm is so much that even Astrid is endeared to her. She insists to visit New Berk at least 3 times a month, even if it is a four day further sail (she gets twice a month for half the year). When Alivia is grown enough (i.e. 15) she is allowed to visit whenever she pleases... given the crew she has recently inherited is amenable to it. ;)
Alivia wants to teach Zephyr everything. Three years later, she gets a brother.
Nuffink... well she was disappointed that it was a boy. But, she supposed, he would be OK if he was from her father.
Turns out... she grew to adore Nuffink. In fact, Zephyr turned out to have the quirkiness that Alivia could always get along with and shared the same humor and intelligence that she admired in her father. But Nuffink? Nuffink had that spice of crazy that she loved. He was the one she ended up taking on half-cocked adventures (avoiding the churlish eye of his mother). He was the one she ended up teaching to braid hair (because her sister cut all of hers off, but Nuffink? He was growing his for every style she yearned to try!). He was the one who she could introduce the tradition of smashing rocks against the head (as her grandfather would do... not her father, or even his wife). He was the one she would wing-man for in port-villages on neighboring islands, and whisper nay-or-yay on whomever his eye fell on.
Alivia adored Nuffink and wanted to cultivate every crazy inborn red-headed viking instinct their lineage wrought.
You know, now that I’ve spoken about this I am kinda all for it :D
