After over 10 hours of travel in the loud shaky busses, we slept overnight and woke up at 4:30 am to catch another bus to be at this woman's house by 6:00 am to film her doing her morning chores etc. We knew before hand that her husband died of alcoholism and that she had some struggles with him. However, the moment the camera switched on, she said the nicest things about him. How he never lay a finger on her and how happy they were together. She completely denied his drinking problem and said he "only died because he was working too hard in the field." The man who introduced me to her (who's known her for years) was so shocked to see her story change despite agreeing to the shoot beforehand and was given clear instructions why we are doing what we do. But what can you do? I can't force the truth out of anyone..
