Overlooking Camiguin Island and the volcanoes.
Every time I think that the Philippines has lost all its hope, I get reminded by pictures like this that there’s still a flicker of light holding out for us.
Our country deserves the best. We deserve the best.
“Retouched” my dad’s old photo taken in the 1930s in the US. Added lanzones and kulasisi from his home province of Camiguin.
Happy birthday Papa!

Camiguin is a pearl-shaped island located in the Bohol Sea, where the first records of Spanish explorers on the island date back to as early as 1521. The Spanish settlement flourished from the mid 1600s, but was almost completely wiped out by the eruption of Mt. Vulcan in 1871.
