Stussy X Holden
Following the successful collaboration last year between Stussy and snow-sports brand Holden, the two labels have re-united to create another capsule collection of highly wearable yet functional fare.
The alliance between a brand rooted in 1980s Californian surf culture and the innovative outerwear specialists at Holden provides credibility that filters right down to their video lookbooks, which are used to unveil the collection in performance conditions.
For Autumn/Winter 2013, the Stussy and Holden crew travelled to Hokkaido, Japan’s North island, where the team of pro-boarders tested the competence of the eco-friendly fabrics designed to increase breathability. The slightly grainy black and white footage is perhaps an unconventional way of showcasing the line, however it testifies to the “liveability, quality and function” of the designs.
With a colour palette of khaki, grey and black, the collection references Stussy’s urban influence and features a fresh camouflage print in a nod to the versatility of a range that is as wearable in the city as it is on the slopes.
