The sun was starting to dip below the horizon. The Lamb was still in the gardens, helping her followers sort seeds and pull the vegetables from the earth. Inside the leader's home was her most devoted follower, preparing to show how she was more devoted to her Goddess than anyone could ever hope to be.

Narinder's heart thumped in her chest as she took off her robes. She wanted to do this, she needed to do this, but she was still scared.

The perfume settled on her fur, droplets small from the atomizer. It was one of the few luxuries The Lamb kept. The glass bottle was thick and smooth, slightly scalloped, with a metal mesh puff. It was beautifully ornate. It was fit for a Goddess.

The lamb originally bought it from a trader on a crusade, but it since ran out. The Lamb then made the replacement perfume herself, soaking camellia leaves and lavender sprigs in warm water for hours. The result was a soft, delicate scent. It smelt like the baskets of flowers they put up for the Rite of Lust, or maybe a field in the middle of summer after a rain. Narinder patted it into her fur along her neck, wrists, and hips. She wanted to be perfect for The Lamb. Before she could place the bottle back on the vanity with The Lamb's other grooming stuff, Narinder decided to spray a puff onto the bed, too.

Then she grabbed a wooden box off the nightstand and opened it. Inside was a ceremonial dagger she had swiped from the temple. It was beautifully etched metal, imagery of vines and bones crawled up the hilt and along the blade. She reclined onto the bed and placed the dagger beside herself, ready for it to be used to carve her flesh by her Goddess.

Now she just has to and wait, splayed out and vulnerable for her deity.
