Plant of the Day
Monday 3 February 2020
A multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub or a small tropical tree Senna didymobotrya (African senna, popcorn senna, candelabra tree, peanut butter cassia) is widely used as a medicinal plant. These plants were being visited by large, shiny black, solitary tropical carpenter bees (Xylocopa latipes). The plant can escaped from cultivation and become invasive forming dense impenetrable clumps.
