also also i like benebac. it might not actually do anything for the mice (i havent seen a single one of them poop since i started giving it to them) but at the very least they loveeee the flavor

#i have to stop them from eating it bc they will literally gorgggge themselves on it #the only ones who dont like it are enoki and some of the baby boys #all the adult mice and old ladies LOVE it.#cannot get enough #which is nice bc it's low calories and it's probiotics so its really good for them #the only thing is that the first ingredient is sunflower oil #and i try to avoid sunflower and corn at any and all chances bc a mold that grows on them is linked directly to cancer #but idk if aflatoxin even survives the oilification process. it probably doesnt.#i think i have noticed a slight improvement in poppy and peaches' weights and general appearance. but it's minor. (t heyre my oldest and #sickest mice) but ive only given it to them for like 3-4 days now so the improvements will be minimal #the ladies who get antibiotics daily and need to stay on antibiotics for the rest of their lives (poppy and peaches) need to get probiotics #daily to make up for their digestive tract being fucked. the others dont need it expect maybe once or twice a week #i think regularly having probiotics is always a good thing as someone who drinks at least one kombucha a day #and is always eating kimchi #if i dont get my daily probiotics from my kombucha or kimchi i DO notice a difference #i feel more inflammation i have less appetite and what i do want to eat is less healthy #everything feels worse #so i like being able to offer that to the mice too bc i know they'd benefit too

𝐊𝐈𝐖𝐈𝐂𝐔: verse set in the original universe made by fateswallow. as such a great deal of it is plotted around their characters, and story.

the twins are still merfolk of course. but were unfortunately caught by fishermen as little elvers, and sold to a black market. they might of been bought for parts, if not for maude beckett. initially she only took them to study them, and the various myths related to the healing properties their flesh had. eventually though, maude would grow quite attached to the twins. as they displayed their character, and intelligence time and time again. taking it upon herself to teach them and, in her own way, raise them as if they were her own. even going so far as to find a way to give them legs, when their tanks grew too confining.

their powers are much the same, though less restricting in this verse. jade can make people tell him the truth. pulling answers from anyone he needs them from. when he was younger, he used to use it quite often. on those working in maude's lab- to get key codes, passwords, and come clarification on what was happening.

floyd on the other hand, can essentially... become untouchable. by physical attacks of any kind ( ranged or melee ), magic, psychic abilities. honestly it's quite powerful, and it's only hindered by his own mental hurdles. as the effectiveness is decided almost entirely by whether or not he feels like using it.

once they were old enough, jade definitely took after maude quite a bit. and even approaches her about learning to do what she does. while floyd helps from time to time, much like jade does-- he goes off on his own more often than not. usually to spend time with daphne hart; arguably his best friend, despite their rocky start.

even with their, strange, familial ties to maude-- they know she is not their mother. and if it gets choppy, or she dies, they've got no reason to mourn, or second guess their own survival. that is to say, they wont throw their lives away for her, despite the fact she did save them.
