Oh darling, what a delight it was to wake up to this message. The past year of my life that I've spent with you has been the best in any lifetime I could have lived. I've felt more loved and understood by your hand than an old abused cat in rescue from a kind human from the shelter, or a neglected toy saved and loved by a child.
I see how you care for me in every second of the day. When you bring me my meds, when you comfort me when I'm sick at the side of the road — just in the way we cuddle close in the evening. I see the way we love, and I wouldn't ever trade it for anything. Not for anything, or anyone.
I'm so, so proud of how far you have come. I'm proud of you for going to that interview with courage. I remember how skittish you used to be with things like that, and the pride I have in you for overcoming those frightful feelings is unfathomable. You try so hard every day, and maybe you don't see it, but I do. You succeed. You are a constantly improving work of art — and a very handsome one at that.
