Fandom Problem #9360:
When the recently canon-flanderized version of your favorite character becomes the default fanon interpretation because everyone is more into the generic "buffoon lol" characterization archetype than something you'd think people would be into that specific character for, like their backstory and other nuances.
Criminal Minds Rewatch
Ok so Emily’s canon birth year of 1970 makes no sense. And Emily kind of talks over Reid when he says it so it make more sense that she cut him off from saying the full year.
I just watched the episode where Hotch is cleaning out the garage and finds the pirate hat and he ends of bringing out his high school year book. And we know it is high school because he says Hailey’s photo was in the Grade 10 pictures. But it was the 1987 yearbook. Which would make Hotch between 16 and 18 in 1987.
And if Emily was born in 1970, she would have been 17 in 1987.
But Emily and Hotch being the same age makes no sense if he has already completed university, completed law school, passed the bar, worked as a prosecutor, switched to being an FBI agent, and worked for the FBI long enough to be the Agent in charge of vetting an Ambassador’s staff, all while Emily is still in university.
Dear writers:
If you use an off-screen time skip to sweep significant development between your couple under the rug and only reference it offhandedly, I feel like I’ve been blindsided and lose quite a bit of investment in the relationship.
Question: why am I always tired?
Me: okay, busy day tomorrow, gonna go to bed nice and early like a responsible adult.
Me, two hours later, eyes still closed: Wait what was the statue in front of Dumbledore's office again?
Me, four hours later, staring into the dark abyss of my room: DOES HOGWARTS CHANGE THE GARGOYLE FOR EACH HEADMASTER AND WHY DID DUMBLES USE SUCH TERRIBLE PASSWORDS AND WHY WOULD THAT DOOR OPEN FOR ANYONE WHEN I CAN'T EVEN GET MY PASS KEY TO WORK ON DOORS I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO OPEN AND SHOULD I WRITE A FIC ABOUT USING THE HEADMASTERS OFFICE INAPPROPRIATELY AND fuck its three am again, isn't it?
Fandom Problem #6721:
People in fandoms nowadays need to learn that its fine for your ship not to be canon
And its fine to ship shit that probably wont be canon, you dont need a fucking 12 page essay and a 35 part youtube series to prove its gonna be canon
Fandom Problem #9850:
When it’s obvious that your NOTP will be the end game ship
Fandom Problem #10,255:
When you ship something and you don't expect it to become canon, but then canon announces it's going to be a thing and you're like OMG MY BELOVED. YES. Then the canon actually comes out, it's atrocious to the point even the people who previously shipped it are cringing bad, and you feel like the Spongebob Holding Hands Out Meme.
