Armand didn't need to hunt in the night anymore, but he found the reception was better when the sidewalks rolled up. The whole town had a greenish glow from old, ugly streetlights. Cold. Lonely. Quiet desperation hung in the air like smoke.
He sat stiffly on a bench at an old bus stop. Closed his eyes, listening, searching for longing. For someone to call out to... but his phone was burning in his pocket. He had a problem, but he wasn't ready to admit it yet.
Autumn meets winter.

“A man walks down the street. It's a street in a strange world. Maybe it's the third world. Maybe it's his first time around. He doesn't speak the language. He holds no currency. He is a foreign man. He is surrounded by the sound, sound of cattle in the marketplace, scatterlings and orphanages. He looks around, around he sees angels in the architecture spinning in infinity and he says, "Amen" and "Hallelujah!”
